The first Fed specific racquet...he used to play with the "Sampras" 85 sq inch Pro Staff. After all these years, this still remains in my mind as my favorite racquet ever! I play with the Blade Pro 18x20 these days, but the nCode 90 is still tops in my heart. BTW, there were 100 sq inch racquets available already when this one came out...most notably, perhaps, Babolat Pure Drive. Anyway, great racquet that really rewarded a long fast swing that made good sweet spot contact. Super stable on volleys, with great touch feel. And excellent for serving to spots, lots of control!

There are some players that still use the 95 version of this. Tommy Paul, up until recently, used this. Dan Evans and a few more.

IMO fed played his biggest tennis with the ncode 90. His forehand was amazing. I used the 6.1 node 18 x 20 for years and it remains one of my favorite all time frames.

When I was a playing competitively almost 20 years ago this was my racquet. I was a huge Sampras/Federer fan and even though I was a 3.0/3.5 player I stubbornly used this racquet for my one-handed backhand and attacking all-court style. I'm just getting back into tennis after all of this time and just picked up a Six One 100 v14 which is obviously going to be a lot more forgiving and powerful than this frame which I kind of need now at my age. I'm kind of amazed though that I won a lot of adult tournaments back in the day with the ncode tour at just 90 sq. in and really no inherent power in the frame itself. You have to supply all of it. However nothing ever felt as solid and precise as this racquet through the ball and I still have two L6 (4 3/4") size frames made for me at the factory that I will never let go and may go back to occasionally after I get back into match shape just for the challenge of it.

I've started using my K90 recently, but I sanded it back to raw graphite dropping 25 grams and it's now usable again at 338g strung.

I have (2) of these which I actually played with as recently as 3 months ago when I was getting back into tennis! Bought the Pro Staff V13 RF because it felt the most similar to these rackets. But I really love playing with these rackets. Mine are in rough shape, if they still made these, I would’ve bought them hands down.

@@juanmajg3113 I like the RF pro staff a lot! It’s hard to say that it’s better or worse than the older 90in series since they’re just different rackets but it’s the closest I’ve felt to the older 90in series. They’re the same weight, very similar feel, and have that classic pro staff control and precision. I can hit what I want to hit when I want to hit it which is my goal at the end of the day. Now it is a heavy racket which I definitely felt for the first few matches (even though it’s the same weight as the old ones I was actively using) so keep that in mind.

Iconic racquet, will always associate this one with Federer. I have two of the 95s. The weight is a little too demanding for me on the serves nowadays, but groundstrokes are so pure.

Fkn millennials ridiculous . Sampras dominated the sport with courier and edberg once upon a time using the pro staff 6.0 but nooo nooo a racquet from the early 2000s put Wilson on the map . I could go back and talk about the wooden days and the first metal days but nooooooo , the ncode put Wilson the map . Shit video anyways , barely talked about the feeling of the racquet and how it plays . Maybe you should do another video on this racquet cos this one sucks!!!!

Plus, Junior here is remarkably off on racquet history. It was the 85 and Sampras that made this stick a bigee for Wilson. The racquet here is an evolvement (for Federer) from the original 85. And again, this is racquet misinformation about grip size, as if 4 5/8' is "huge" or something. Do yourself a favor and try a larger grip, and then stick with it. Your tennis will improve.

This is foolish. First, sanitary wipes? Because there's just so many germs in someone's garage? Seriously? Second, 4 5/8" is the best grip size for serious players. People today play with tiny grips that are way too small. Too small a grip and you get very little feedback or control from the racquet. This guy's judgment - highly suspect.
