His belief system and personal values have driven him to success. Isn't that a great thing these days since those same values and beliefs are so strongly being ridiculed and by the so called "intellectual elites" and postmodernists. Clemson allowed this man to practice these values and it has paid off huge!! Why, because those values and beliefs do work. Yes, honesty, integrity, humility, hard work.......really do work in human relationships. What a concept! Dabo learned to stick with those beliefs despite adversity and challenge and he was spot on!

best coach in college football period.....best manager ....great man........very smart person......cares ....hires good coaches and good men and lets them do their thing......managers in business could learn from Dabo......you said it coach God wants you in Clemson.......we are blessed to have you here and for more than just football......I am thinking you will retire at Clemson, I know i speak for every Clemson fan(me being the biggest that exists) saying we want you at Clemson always.

I am an Alabama fan, and as long as this man is there I am a Clemson fan too. He signed a picture for my mother in law back in 07! I have shopped in this guy's dad's hardware store, rest assured, he is genuine like any good ol Alabama boy. He is a hero and an inspiration!

I do not know about him being the best, because from an x and o point of view, even his coordinators are likely more knowledgeable. From a success standpoint, it is hard to argue that Nick Saban is by far the best. Here is the thing though, I do not think Saban could have achieved that success at Clemson, and I doubt Dabo could have done as well at Alabama. Often, the same coach just never achieves the same chemistry with a future team. It is the X factor that has a Steve Spurrier having amazing success in Florida, but very limited success for the Gamecocks. It is hard to define, or replicate that chemistry, but you know it when you see it. I think Dabo is the best coach for Clemson, and Saban is the best for Alabama. I think Dabo would have failed miserably had he tried to be a carbon copy of Nick Saban. Thankfully he just tried to be Dabo. Even though most fans wanted him fired in his second and third years, Terry Don Phillips believed in him, so thank you Terry Don Phillips for ignoring us idiot fans.

Man let me tell you something Mr. Swinney, I am an Alabama fan. My name is Shane and I was born in Birmingham AL in 1980. I am 38 years old. Let me show you just a sample of how God used your life in even more ways than you can imagine. First of all though let me say this, I did not like you at first. Then I learned who you were and heard your story. I learned that Clemson was a school with it's whole history tied to your Alma mater and my favorite team. I learned about how ex Alabama players had won championships there. I grew up in Dora Alabama but after moving to Gorgas and finishing high school I found myself living in Alabaster, my mother in law at the time was someone you have also met in person. Joanie Payne. She thinks the world of you. She pulled for you the first time you played Alabama, I didn't lol, I just couldn't. I was a bama fan and this was of all things, tigers. Then I learned about you, and I learned about Clemson. I was 12 years old when your team took the field as underdogs against Miami in 92. It would be my first time watching a full Alabama game. I saw Miami players talk smack. Then I watched with utter joy as you guys just completely dismantled them. I was so proud of the state of Alabama at that moment I walked out on my porch, screaming roll tide as loud as I could. I have NEVER liked to see Alabama lose, but brother, I couldn't pick a better person or team for them to lose to. I am a Bama fan. I am now also a Clemson fan. I am definitely a Dabo Swinney fan! I hope I somehow meet you someday. I have tremendous respect for you for one reason, you and I are brothers in Christ Jesus. Hearing you say this, be humble, and give God the glory everyone should be giving him, made my night man. God used you to bless someone more than you knew. I love watching Alabama and Clemson battle it out but next time man, maybe don't hang 21 on us ok? Lol jk, you are wise because you fear God. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. I may live in a state where football and Saban are almost worshipped, but nothing will ever take God's place. Anyway if you read this please respond and let me know. I would love to tell you more about how God used you to bless me! BTW I have the sports illustrated from 1992 and it is one of my prize possessions, I would love to have your and Stallings autograph on it! You have become an inspiration and a hero to me sir. I get goosebumps every time I hear you speak. Faith in God always gets you through. I retired after 24 years in the AF and now I am working as a civilian with the AF managing young people and trying to teach and get the best out of them. I turn to the bible to keep my faith strong and I turn to your words when trying to reach and teach these young Airman. Keep doing what you're doing coach. You're helping a lot more people than just those guys on the field and I thank you.

Dabo Swinney can play up all that average Joe talk if he wants to, but nobody believes that anymore. Ask Nickk Saban if Dabo is an average Joe. For that matter askk almost anyone from the State of Alabama. As a life long Clemson fan, I will state what is obvious, Dabo Swinney is a very personable man, but he is not an average Joe anymore. He knows how to motivate 3 and 4 star players to play like 4 and 5 star players, that is not average.
