Throughout his career at Moriarty High School, Bailey has made a significant impact as a coach, educator, and athletic director. His contributions include coaching girls' basketball, boys' basketball, and track and field, leading teams to multiple district championships and state tournament appearances. Bailey's career highlights include being named New Mexico Track and Cross Country Coach of the Year (1999, 2000), induction into the New Mexico Cross Country & Track and Field Coaches Association Hall of Fame (2013), and recognition as the New Mexico Athletic Director of the Year (2019)​(
