I hope Carlos pays respect and show gratitude to coach Kugimiya. I watched the documentary about Carlos and the coach. The coach had sacrificed so much for Carlos. The coach found a school for him, provided training facility, house, cooked meals and looked after him. He was his coach, mentor and supporter all at the same time. He wouldn’t be where he is at without the unconditional support he had received from the coach. In my opinion, being humble, not forgetting where you come from, and showing gratitude to the ones who believed in you throughout your journey to becoming who you are today are the most important aspects of a hero.

That’s what separates Philippines in sports to other countries and in other things in general. Caloy won without him for the best, but he hands down learned from him and what the coach said is still true. They need to learn from Caloy and coach. Philippines can compete with anyone for my opinion, but they need the belief and culture like Japan has. They made two international tournaments in baskatball over us a baskatball nation and in Asia arguably the best football nation with growing players in top European clubs. You can’t tell me Philippines can’t produce to be competitive with at least a country like Japan and South Korea.

When Coach Munehiro said that attitude towards gymnastic must be human first and then improve one's gymnastic skills, this means that the attitude of one person such having a positive mindset must be first before training on skills or techniques. In Japan culture, in schools, elementary kids are being taught about values, respect, and honor before they teach the academics. For Japanese, one cannot excel in academics, sports, and/or about life without these foundation. Character building first before academic or skill building.

While we are grateful to Mr. Kugimiya, I don't believe he's the only one who impacted Carlos's career. Carlos earned 11M at some point. It's likely that the former coach also is well-off now. @@Lumerimi Well, you can't blame others for saying so because in public, Carlos was more vocal about his gratitude towards other people esp his gf. True, we don't know if he did thank his Japanese coach behind the scenes but then I will question that myself? Why couldn't he do it publicly when he could and still can gush about his gf and other people? As the bible said, out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. The pro-Carlos people keep making excuses for him because they are extreme fans. I personally believe that if he were truly grateful, he would have mentioned his Japanese coach in public asap. You can't hide your true feelings anyway. Whether it was improper or not for others to tell Carlos whom to thank is beside the point. When there is smoke there is fire and that is why even though we can't assume, we also have that so-called intuition based on how people behave despite lacking evidence. That is why it is hard to prove certain crimes or illicit behavior because some facts are hidden from the public and investigators are tasked to give hard evidence which is only right because we make sure the innocent are not prosecuted. However, just because someone gets away with a crime doesn't mean he or she did not commit it.

It was best both sides moved on, but coach and even Caloy have deep respect. I think Caloy appreciates and used what coach has told him and I hope the athletics programs take note what Coach said at heart.

Mune is a genius coach. He saw raw talent and coached a child to become a gold medalist. Not to take away anything from Yulo though.

Whoa he speaks Tagalog. This coach is giving his all but the committee (if at all helping) would rather give rewards for success rather than build a strong foundation of success

Hello. Bata pa ai Yulo Carreon took notice of his skills. She PERSONALLY paid the coach in 2019 while waiting for the budget ng PSC. She's a big factor kaya di na nila nirenew ang contract with Kugiyama kasi dehado si Yulo sa contract. Wag kang ewan jan. Yes given na malaking tulong ng coach kay yulo, but to discredit Carreon di rin tama

That was painful to watch. The hosts were talking at the same time and interrupting the Japanese guest who was visibly struggling to express himself in English. They weren't helping him at all, even asking an abstract question towards the end when Coach Mune can hardly find the words to even describe the subject. These "chiefs" suck at interviewing. Just go back to the newsroom and let people with empathy take on the hosting jobs.
