12:37 Joel, Colorado taking the ball first in overtime was NOT a mistake; it was a genius, deliberate move by Coach Prime. Prime knew that his team had been chasing CSU for the past 3 1/2 quarters. After the 98 yd drive to tie game, Coach knew his offense was hot and had the momentum and crowd. By going "unconventional" in overtime and taking the ball first, he wanted his offense to score first, thereby reversing roles and making CSU the chaser. It was a brilliant coaching move by Prime.

I don't understand why they're surprised that Shedeur Sanders is such an Excellent QB? 1. That's Coach Prime's Son (*and you know Coach Prime is about Excellence!) 2. Shedeur has been getting trained by 7 time Superbowl Winning QB Tom Brady 3. Shedeur has a Top QB Coach that we see with him a lot - Darrell (*Select QB Athletics) 4. All that tape of him at Jackson State University 5. He was recruited by top schools like Alabama

I think what makes the win more fascinating is that with all those facts, the buffs didn’t fold. Usually when all that is going against you, you fold. I folded in the second quarter. I was only wondering how bad it was going to be. They overcame what was not overcomeable. I made up a word. After that game, I had a whole new respect for the buffs. They won a game that was impossible to win. I wish I had that amount of no quit.

This game was good for CU. It ended up being a trap game and they found a way to win. Now they know more of their weaknesses and can atleast see film and work on it during practice. I think the offense likes to run bubble screens and short passes to start. I think they need to pass more aggressively to start and open up the run game that way. In both the Nebraska game and this game CU played better when they opened up the offense and started being more aggressive. I think that they are running scripted plays to start the game and sometimes that may work but going forward they might have to call the first half based on what the defense is giving you.

Always love Klatt’s analysis! A couple things: 1. In his post-game presser, Coach Prime was asked about their inability to stop the shallow crossing patterns. He said the coaches had proper schemes, however the players failed to execute. I presume this along with the pending absence of Hunter, may usher in the much anticipated debut of McClain. We were also missing Stoutmier, our 3rd CB. 2. Coach said he wanted to put the offense out there first to put pressure on CSU, having confidence Sheduer would lead a TD. In the 4th, CSU began playing not to lose opposed to playing to win.

My rubric for "chippiness" is "Once one team has NINE personal foul penalties, it's no longer 'it was chippy on both sides'.". CSU reflected their coaches scattershot, frantic gyrations on the sideline. All the while speaking about "poise" to Quint Whocares at halftime. Norvell's LACK of poise showed through to his team, and ultimately cost them. And Jay blaming the refs in the presser, pathetic chickenshit move!!

You said it best. As a coach I don’t blame the kids, I’ll always blame the coach. Their behavior and actions were obviously coached by Jay and his staff. In rivalry games, the question is not "if" but "when" you go for 2 or attempt to convert on a 4th down - If CS when for it on a 4th & 2, they win the game, but even if they didn't convert, you're forcing Colorado to play fast & burn timeouts. All told, if Colorado scored fast, CS would have had enough time to drive up the field and score a touchdown or field goal with practically no time on the board!

Jay Norvell is the reason for all the dirty plays. He's the coach. He sets the tone. If the dirty plays were isolated incidents, that would be one thing, but clearly #8 and #11 (among others) have been taught to take cheap shots on the opponents stars whenever they can. Did you see #8 twisting Shadeur's ankle on one sack? Players don't do that unless their coach rewards them for it. Jay Norvell is a disgrace. There's no place in college football for a coach that encourages dirty play designed to injure the competition. Now Colorado has to play the next few games without one of their best players. Because of Jay Norvell and his disgusting tactics.

I'm a diehard USC fan. I will give Joel some balanced objectivity as well as he's doing with CU... Joel, you're absolutely right about the Buffs being vulnerable to crossing routes and they will definitely see more of it for the next two Saturdays. I know my Trojans under Riley. While we will most certainly exploit CU's inability to defend crossing routes, our problem is we can't stop people when we need to, especially teams who don't quit. CU will NOT quit AND they can score as well. Riley hasn't proved YET, that he can coach USC past either a defensively sound/tough team (or simply tough enough) who can also score (Utah, Tulane, and UCLA had their starting QB not broken his thumb). If we can't stop CU, the Buffs got a shot, especially in Boulder. Now, Oregon, I haven't watched them all year, but if they are the Oregon they've always been since the Chip Kelly days, the same thing applies. Offesive Coordinator Guru Coaches don't win big close games, especially championship games. Why? THEY CAN'T STOP PEOPLE. They act like FB is only played on one side of the field and have a defense simply because it's "a requirement." Defensive coordinator turned head coaches respect the offensive side of the ball. They HAVE to. It's no coincidence that all the NC ship coaches in the last 20 years have been defensive coordinators/position coaches or former defensive players. Like CU is suspect leaving too many holes in its coverage schemes, USC is equally suspect in only relying on outscoring opponents and expecting them to quit. USC better not go into Boulder with the same attitude we went into Salt Lake City with last year. Believe! lol

*"DOMINATE":* Kamara getting himself put out of the game served to help the Buffaloes _(by taking specific game-long pass pressure off of Shedeur!)._ *With Kamara's repeat penalties/fouls, the game became decided by "THE HORTON HARRISON (and Weaver!) BOWL"* 🏈 Kamara's self-inflicted ejection absolutely helped the Buffaloes OT scoring drives! ✔🦬🏈 *3-0*

What you didn't bring up in 4th Q stats is that the best teams & QB's are deep into the bench in the 4th Q. Shedeur Sanders while extremely good doesn't have much competition this time of year to be leading in all of those stats.

CSU played hard and manhandled the lines. Their quarterback played great with accuracy and strength, but decision-making needed improvement. They made CU weaknesses very obvious. Entertaining game!

Im not worried about CU offense. Led by Heisman favorite Shedeur Sanders they got weapons everywhere. The O-line needs to play better thought. But Its the defense that concerns me the most. They gotta play better have to take pressure of the offense to have to keep making big plays to win.

I get it but Oregon might not be as good people think they are. They barely beat an average Texas Tech team. They went into the fourth quarter trailing. The safe bet is to go with Oregon but I like Cu's chances.

Colorado's offense has to come out swinging early to relieve the pressure on that weak defensive line that they have. And even though Hunter will be out the next game I don't see CSU being able to do what they did offensively with Hunter still in the game. They'll fix the backend for sure but the Line is the problem
