Ronaldinho is one of the best players and entertainer of football to ever grace the game. But his longevity is not much. He had a much shorter career than most footballers due to his brazilian lifestyle. But whenever he played he brought out the magic in football and the defenders were scared to play against him but no-one hated him cuz he was humble and always smiling. Never an arrogant man. His smile is well known in the football World. He's also know as the king of nutmegs (where you put the ball through the legs of another player) it's an extremely hard technique to pull off and especially in a high intensity matches but he always seems to do it so easily. The fast direction switch of the ball with one foot was invented and perfected by him. It was nearly undefendable and I've never seen anyone do it again so far. It is such a difficult move, no doubt there are players atm who could pull it of, but the risk for them to lose the ball is just too high since they aren't able to pull it of 100% like he did. I'm so glad that I was able to see the great generation of players that are now retired. Pirlo, Ronaldinho, Zidane, Robinho, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo, Eto'o, Henry, the list goes on. He never had any nasty fights so far as I can remember, sure there were some heated momens but nothing like Cristiano or Neymar. He had so much respect from the other players, he was often hailed by younger players before games even started. He trully is the Michael Jordan of Football. I support Real Madrid, the main rival of Barcelona, but even with a teenage mind I could comprehend, that I can't hate him, he is just so good, I have to accept and enjoy, while it last. In 2009 I went to the Chile national stadium with my father to watch the Chile vs. Brazil match for the World Cup qualifiers in South Africa. In the warm-up Ronaldinho put 4 balls on the penalty area line, he kicked all 4 and hit the crossbar 4 times, all the balls came back to him and he left them exactly in the same place where he kicked them. I played soccer (defender) until 18 and can tell you that these types of players are miserable to play against. You feel like their movements should put them at a disadvantage but they don't. It's infuriating. Also, his ball control is superhuman. As someone who practiced to get good at those cuts and the ticky-tacky stuff, it's not easy. But he seems to have integrated high level movement into his regular dribbling pattern. Even from someone very familiar with the sport, its jaw dropping.

He was single-handedly the player that made Barcelona the club it is today. It all started with him. The view was negative when he arrived and it was hyper positive when he left. He didn't played to score the most goals, he played to entertain the most. It was him that started the Barca philosophy of acknowledging the fans and celebrating for the fans, because he did it all the time. He just wanted to make the people's money worth by playing beautiful football. I still think that when he played in PSG he was THE best player in the world. Nobody could stop him he just didn't had the team aroud him. Then he moved to Barca where he won everything and decided that he should just enjoy life and have fun. And it all started to go down from there. He still made nice plays and score tremendous goals but he just wasn't the same.

In a “Clásico” (classic rivalry match) away against Real Madrid, Ronaldinho was pretty much shredding the opponents. The entire stadium (in Real Madrid a rival) would cheer for this guy. So he just having fun most of the time, and they expected him to be challenging.
