My ryzen 9 7000 series and rtx 4070 plays this game at 110 fps constant but 70 at the lowest sounds like 4060 ti lacking a bit of power my guy I got the game on ultra quality and everything else set to high sounds yea maybe you need a little upgrade 😅

I have no desire to play overwatch anymore. While the optimization and movement is way better, there is no soul in overwatch. Overwatch feels like an empty corporate cash grab front. Marvel rivals feels like being a kid again and finding a great game.

I also had ZERO interest in the game until launch, played it and immedietly loved it and realized how much fresher and better it was to OW. Also the fact that ALL HEROES are unlpcked is amazing. the monetization in the game also seems very fair. I bought the BP since it was only 5$, if they keep this up the game is gonna be BIG!

If you like overwatch, you probably enjoy team based hero shooters. There hasn’t been a good 2nd option for 8 years. We are allowed to be tired of playing the same game for 8 years. That doesn’t mean OW is bad, or dead. New games, when made well, are exciting. So I don’T think OW is dead at all, but I do wonder if the reign is over, now that something else exists to draw that player base.

yeah, it's literally just a honeymoon phase with "a new thing that doesn't suck". Rivals is the new Flavor of the Month game. Is it good? Exciting? Yes, and I hope it succeeds. But man, people are dumb if they think Overwatch is dying or Rivals is "so much better". They are just different games, with different pros&cons.

@@theSatoehh I think “flavor of the month” is a stretch. Most hero shooters fall flat on their face right off launch. Marvel rivals is experiencing unheard of success in the genre by anyone not named overwatch, and I think they did a lot of things right that’ll draw people (myself included) away from overwatch. They nailed the “hero” feeling. Nearly every character feels completely unique like you’re playing an entirely different playstyle each time. The maps (while yes I agree there aren’t enough of them yet) have destruction physics making them feel impactful with a lot of verticality and different ways to play. There’s also just the “nerdy” side of it being a marvel IP with tons of interesting characters and established lore that’ll draw people who don’t even play hero shooters. It still has balancing and optimization issues as expected for a brand new game, but if they use this momentum to build on their game I could 100% see this being a long term overwatch competitor if not overtaking it.

I played OW for 6 years and right now, I think Marvel Rivals is more fun than Overwatch because it completely nails the hero fantasy. It allows characters to feel powerful and impactful throughout every moment of gameplay. Buildings get destroyed, the maps have immense verticality so that flying through space feels epic. That’s something that I think OW has been missing for too long. We only get glimpses of power fantasies through game modes like the one where they added hero talents on each round. Where I agree with you though is with the characters. I was incredibly disappointed that they made the same mistake as Overwatch with the roster. I’m a support main - I don’t play any other role. And of the few supports we have, I only “love” Cloak & Dagger. Half of the supports aren’t appealing to me character-design wise, and the other half have kits that I don’t vibe with. Overwatch does a great job of releasing appealing supports that have cute designs and exciting gameplay. Only problem is that it took 8 years to get to that point… Anyway, my PC only has space for one game right now (either Rivals or OW, not both), and I’m really enjoying Rivals. It’s a lot of fun. I just hope they give the support / vanguard roster more attention in the near future and don’t take 8 years to fix this problem. And I hope they don’t balance all the fun out of the game. I’m hoping that the ban system, the team-ups, and the seasonal bonuses will naturally shift metas so that balance patches don’t have to be so dramatic.

Overwatch is definitely more optimized, but Rivals is simply more fun. Without Rivals doing a push for quality of life improvements before dropping more heroes, it could hurt the game potentially. Depends on what content they drop I supposed. IMO I think the game needs to polish before anything, there’s just something off with gameplay that doesn’t hit how OG Overwatch hit at launch

They literally copied a successful business model and added characters that people know and love and are already invested in. That’s the biggest hurdle with hero shooters, I don’t even play those games don’t like them, but I’ve been binging Marvel Rivals

So there's a ton of damage heroes, no doubt about it. BUT I think strategists are very strong with a ton of diverse options based on what you're trying to accomplish (or just have fun). They can use a little more Vanguard depth, especially Poke and Offensive Tanks. Really the only Poke is kind of Magneto and the only good Offensive Tank is Thor (Cap needs a buff, he's more DPS than Dive and bad at both).

So when it first released I tried the game, laggy, unoptimized and bad fps (20-30fps max for my pc). I figured I'd give it a couple weeks and see if they made it any better but my NEED to play the game won out and I decided to just order more ram and now the game feels so much better! It feels like OW1 when I was learning all the characters and because I'm a huge marvel fan it's so fun to play as some of my favourite characters in the game and feel like I am actually them! It definitely has a lot of room to grow as a game too, literally hundreds of new characters they COULD add, they could even do pve events maybe in the future, or just things that other games like OW failed on etc. Granted I've been playing for barely 5/6 days but I am having so much fun!

I have no issues myself. Mind you I’m running the more current Ryzen 7 7000 series, but my GPU is by no means top of the line (middle of the road) and I’ve had zero issues. The one thing I have found is you should not run the game on netease’s launcher, it’s too RAM intensive unless you have 32 or more GB and even then it’s iffy. Running on steam it’s been very smooth for the most part.

I love both of the games - this gives me the ability to take a break from OW and still enjoy a similar game then I can come back to OW when there is more new to learn and enjoy. Rivals is amazing, but so is OW. Now I have both of them to enjoy. I never needed an Overwatch killer. I needed a new OW challenger. This is it.

Hey bruv, your Super Resolution mode can be turned down to anything but quality to get a significant improvement. 4060 is the lowest spec GPU in the current generation so it is unfortunately not a "really great pc". This thing runs a pretty good 60fps on Steamdeck when set to Low so please use that as reference - not trying to throw shade.

It's not 'better' than Overwatch, it's literally just a different game, with different pros and cons. It's fun, but it's not without its drawbacks fundamentally. When the honeymoon phase with M.Rivals wears off, tons of people will return to Overwatch, mark my words. I wish both games success.

Yeah, Im probably just old - but i've been through the mill of many new games, and although a fundamentally bad game is never fun even on day 1, people don't realise they're in a honeymoon phase of Rivals. Any game you start to take remotely seriously you'll become more critical of, and if you're not aiming to rank up then you'll get bored of the same quickplay loop too. Im sure many will stick to Rivals as their main game, but many similar issues around character balance and content will pop up soon.

I highly doubt it ~ personally I left ages ago, but then again you wouldn't catch me dead paying $20 human dollars for a digital skin. At least with Rivals they let you convert the currency you earn in their little daily missions to the gold lattice to buy skins, so you can technically get all of the skins using in game credits entirely for free. Y'know, like Overwatch used to do back when it wasn't hot garbage.

I do not understand why people can't run the game. I've got an ASUS TUF A15, with a laptop 4060, 16 ram and 1tbSSD, with an Intel 7H. I run the game with everything on ultra except 1 or 2 settings on high and I've got a constant 90-100 fps. This is my first time ever playing a Shooter so maybe to ME this is peak settings and performance idk

I've been loving this game since release. Sorry to hear about you optimization issues. Mines have been running amazing but I'm on an i9 12900k and a 3090. I can run it max with DLSS set to Performance and get a constant 60FPS @4k with no drops.

While Marvel Rivals is a Overwatch clone. They are completely separate games in what they do for gameplay, neither are better than each other and are entirely dependent on what gameplay you prefer. Both will live in coexistence and wont go anywhere unless one of them completely screws something up, which is unlikely but not sure quite yet for Rivals until January where S1 begins. Like chaotic fights where everything is unbalanced? -Marvel Rivals Like more balanced fights based on a more orderly setup? -Overwatch

@@coach_mills honestly, overwatch is simply a lot older, it had a lot more time to work on the lag and bugs. unreal engine 5 is still very buggy, marvel rivals just gotta have some time. but even then, overwatch is built for the systems at that time. we cannot expect marvel rivals to be the same, due to how much things are happening at once. as a game dev, reducing lag was a really tough thing for me, since a lot of things could go wrong different drivers, different systems, apps playing in the background could trigger an anti cheat. pcs are just.. like that, some people got massive fps with very bad pcs, and some have crashes non stop with high end gaming pc like me. rivals just gotta take it slow, it isn't a universal fix, and it takes time and research.

For me it depends on what the studio does with it but it has far more potential for me. Marvel rivals has the best hero identity out of any game and it’s not close. Almost every character feels incredibly fun and unique to play almost like you’re playing an entirely different playstyle each time. Right now the main things holding it back for me are lack of map variety, some balancing issues, and not having play of the game… but these are all issues they can easily tackle. They have hundreds of already made characters to choose from in the comics and the sky is the limit really. We’ve seen what overwatch can do and some people are just done with it… Whether it truly becomes the “overwatch killer” depends what they do with this momentum they have.

There are plenty of tank and support Marvel heroes they can add later like Colossus, Night Nurse or Elixir PS: I am using a 7900XT w/ 5800X3D w/ 32GB and getting 70-100 fps on 2560x1080. I play in windowed mode in the middle of my 1440p ultra wide. Settings: Screen space reflections, shadows: low, everything else ultra. The main issue is that ping goes way up if you have a toaster playing on your team (80ms). Otherwise I'm pretty consistent at 17ms ping

Regarding optimization, I had to move the installation from my hard drive to SSD because I was frequently stuck at 99% and the game would start but not the game assets and sprites. About OW, I loved it but blizzard lost me after the mess with OW 2. I felt so disrespected when they dropped OW 1 for an "improved" experience and they just decided to lock new characters behind paywalls and become greedy.

Overwatch only works as a game if your team is highly skilled and coordinated. It's essentially unplayable outside of organized tournaments or stacking in comp.

You should really turn on frame generation if you want better performance. It doesn't add remarkable lag input like some people think and you'll get a massive boost in frames especially since you're most likely CPU bounded. I have a 5600g with RTX 4070 and can run the game with 140+ fps on high and 240+ on low at 1080p, no external config or software, just give it a try.

I'm honestly so glad Rivals came out, I quit Overwatch after being a pretty hardcore player when they botched OW2 so bad. I'm surprised to hear you're having optimization issues, I have a pretty old gaming PC with not much left in it these days and I still manage to play the game quite well, no issues unless my internet is being crummy from the weather. Then again I'm not streaming, so who knows. Overwatch used to be my go-to game, but after they sh!t the bed so hard and ruined all my favorite heroes, there's no reason to play it anymore. At least Marvel Rivals scratches that itch of being able to get better with a champion and carry the game because you're gelling with them and just unstoppable. I've had a few matches like that now and it feels great; I just hope they don't make the same mistakes that OW did and put role queue in to ruin the fun for the sake of a few selfish players that refuse to ever flex; it really did lethal damage to OW's player base for a few reasons. Lack of player agency, creativity and long wait times - why would anyone sign up for that?

about the supports and tanks argument. it is simply not a mistake. duelist simply can fit in a lot more comps, they mash very well with almost any character. supports and tanks are simply a lot harder to make too, to make them unique you need to do A LOT more than making a duelist. great video tho! i hope to watch a lot more, never miss an upload

Playing with friends is always fun whatever the game is, especially in shooter games. It's fun whether you win or lose in a quick match or competitive in MR. But playing solo is only fun in quick match coz you can use any hero or role you want. In comp, solo q is just horrible (at least for now that MR is just new). You always find yourself adjusting and swapping heroes/roles because you want the chance to win. Everyone wants to lock the dps role. If no one gives in, you're all playing 6 dps or 5 dps.

I have played a handful of comp games and yeah, I lock tank every time, never a second tank, thankfully at least one healer but always at least 3 sometimes 4 DPS.

It isn't better than Overwatch was back when, but it is better than Overwatch is right now. I still feel like Overwatch had better stage designs for the 2 game modes. The support roles are a lot more fun in Rivals though. As someone who played a lot of D'Va in OW, I still haven't found an ultimate ability that satisfies the way a multikill D'Va bomb did. All-in-all this game has me hooked and wanting to keep trying out new characters every time i play

Yes! Thanks exactly it - the "weightiness" of abilities. In OW, the abilities, specially the ults, feel much better. In my opinion, this is the only thing OW still has going for it from a gameplay perspective. The rest - Marvel Rivals win hands down.

IMO, the seasonal hero buffs should be moved over to being extra bonuses for team ups because team ups are the main draw of Marvel Rivals.

I don't like them (frankly I find the idea of 'parts of your hero's kit is locked away unless one of your allies happens to pick the correct hero to unlock it' as pretty unhealthy game design) -- but it is one of the things that sets it apart from Overwatch as its own thing, something unique and "fun".

Rivals is fun because how unbalance it is, I think is better than OW if you just want to have fun getting roll over because your team is 5 dps and 1 healer is not fun if you want to win games. The problem with you content creators is that must of us are casual gamers must of the times we solo Q. But yes game is super fun still needs a lot of grind, that battle pass is bullshit because you need to grind to much and is limited to the coins you can grab per day or week. Tanks are limited and healers sometimes are not fun to play.

And the few times we didn't, it was fun to just meme with 'oops all tanks' with the one random constantly screaming for someone to switch to a healer while never wanting to do it themselves. But By far, my experience has been groups of Randoms wanting to playing to win.

The optimization is weird in this game for sure. My laptop with 3070ti runs the game fine. On high settings certain things such as Dr Strange portals kill the fps tho. With that being said being neither a fanboy of OW or Marvel, I like this game more. But most of all it's impressive that a f2p big name game dropped and it's actually f2p and good... Huge props to the whole team, I think the lack of initial excitement when it was revealed was probably because everyone expected it to suck and have awful monetization just like most big name games do now.

I think marvel rival Balance IT Champion roaster pretty well Just Split the DPS section in your mind into meele focused and ranged focused. Then ITS pretty even in my opinion.

extremely unpopular opinion: i personally have not enjoyed the game as much as everyone else and it hasn’t hooked me in like ow did. i find the game fun but too messy, unbalanced, and i’m not a big fan of the map designs because there’s so much clutter (both thanks to the map size and designs and the character abilities). there’s always way too much happening on the screen visually and sound design wise and no role lock is kind of an issue when you have teammates that instalock dps forcing you to solo heal or solo tank. the maps are also very wide sometimes with so much open space and everyone is usually on a different part of the map making it hard to heal or coordinate abilities and ults (but that’s probably because a lot of the players don’t really understand how hero shooters work and just want to play spider-man and wolverine for the hero fantasy of it all). both games have pretty problematic QOL aspects and characters but one is more highlighted and scrutinized because it’s been out for almost a decade while the other hasn’t been out for 2 weeks. overall a fun but pretty overrated game, i appreciate overwatch’s more polished and coordinated gameplay, but im glad everyone else is having a lot of fun with it.

For me personally, I prefer Overwatch just coz it's an FPS and it has better optimization than you can run it on a potato pc. I love Rivals too as a matter of fact I've been playing only Rivals for the entire month rn rather than OW. But for me, Rivals is more of my chill game, for me of course, coz I don't need to break my wrist constantly as I would in OW or in any FPS heavy-on mobility game (I main Tracer/Doom/Ana/Ashe). Also, Rivals is so badly optimized, you're going to seppuku the fk outta your low-end PC tryna run Rivals. I love both OW and Rivals' art directions that's why I like them both and also, I would rather keep playing them both than just stick to one side instead.

Eventually, some will get bored playing the single game over and over again and I don't like that. This is why even though I lean more towards Overwatch just coz it's FPS; I still prefer enjoying them both. I love their art styles, I love their music, I love their roster, and I love hero shooters

Really you have to give it to OW with the original heros too. Where rivals has it easy with an existing IP with an overflowing roster to start. They are why they are ...🤷‍♂️ Both are 'good' but opposite ends. FPS vs TPS also...

Really dunno what you're saying about tanks n healers. Like I totally agree, but *every. single. game.* that uses this 'holy trinity' system has more than double the DPS characters/classes as tanks/healers combined. I mean look at FFXIV, even after all these years it has 4 tanks, 4 healers and like 15 dps and growing. WoW has what, 6 tank specs, 7 heal specs, and 20+ dps specs? I think it's the combination of the fact that you usually have muleiple DPS for every 1 each of the other classes in a party, plus the fact people just 'have the most fun' as dps, but ... in this game the most popular meta seems to be an equal number of each so far, or more healers rather than more dps, so idk man. Regarldess, I think this game ahs LESS of that problem than MOST games using this kind of system.

Peak Overwatch was trash compared to Marvel Rivals at launch. Better graphics, better gameplay, better developers, better hero combinations, better queue times, better competitive ladder, better server stability. And all of that at launch. Blizzard sucks. Overwatch is dead to me. 💀 Overwatch isn’t optimized it’s just trash graphics that are the same as OW1 which is 2016 technology that’s why it plays well on mid range GPUs.

what can i say, i f***ing hate 1shots in ow, widow and hanzo, so disgusting. yet many maps have these kind of long range terrain...like specificlly designed for those two. mr has very fun terrain designs, lots of high grounds, most of the maps dont have very long shot. instead in ow, widow in italy map, shes like 2 pixels big but can kill u in 1 shot. how is it fun for normal qp players? most importantly for me, culturally not every hero is equalized. kiriko was released after sj and got 5 times more skin, why? why japanese heroes always got the best things first? more skins, mythic skins(all 3 of them already got it, yet there are 40+ heroes, whats the odds?) it's like an obsession of hmm someone in charge. the toxicity problem hacking problem all took them years to begin to solve, not solved yet.

Rivals is super fun right now because they did a lot of things right and it's novel. I do wonder about it's staying power. My main gripe with the game is the sound design specifically when receiving damage. Overwatch is definitely more polished in that respect.

Also, we should really add, that part of the reason why a lot of people abandoned OW and into Rivals is basically the number of fk-ups OW had throughout the years. And some of our mains have fallen off in some ways to the point that a lot of us felt like OW devs just abandoned us. That's why Necros moved on for example, why play more Genji when OW devs and the community clearly want Genji nerfed to the ground? I'm not even a Genji main and I can understand. And this is very true for a lot of players. Sometimes it's understandable OW devs and the community would rather have some characters royally nerfed but of course, some will move on when they feel like they're not having fun anymore or if they feel like their playstyles or main/s seem unplayable.

Obviously lots of legitimate reasons why people feel disgruntled with OW but I don't think competitive balance can really be no 1. Necros left because MC is a huge opportunity for his career.
