Great video Jenny; thank you for sharing it. My granddaughter started 2 years ago when she was 9 and had lessons from a college pitcher but holding the wrist position as you show was never stressed by her instructor. It looks very important to me! I can't wait to show her this vid and start over again from scratch.

What I like about the 2nd pitcher from 1st is how the pitcher keeps her front shoulder closed throughout the drill, which allows for a better hand/arm path. The first pitcher opens the door, closes the door, allowing the hip to get in the way of the arm circle and release, which in my experience creates problems as they get older. Would be curious to hear what Coach Allard's thoughts on this would be.

I taught myself how to pitch fastpitch and it's not as difficult as that lady is making it to be. I became the starting pitcher for my team, and I took no lessons from anyone. All yoo really have to learn is the accurate release point. If you release too soon your arm will be down by your leg. If you release too late your arm will be too high in the air. It's just a matter of remembering that release point. It's that simple.
