I just returned to skating after 24 plus years and I noticed that at multiple rinks that the skaters don’t use the boards to continue their warmup/stretching! It was always part of my warmup before. There’s no rules against it, so I started to do it my last freestyle session and waited for someone to say something to me. No one did 🤣 Thanks for all the hip flexor tips, I even struggled with tight hip flexors when I was an athlete 25 years ago, now I need to make sure I don’t do anything to hurt myself 🤣

What I often do is a few minutes of foam rolling off the ice to get my muscles moving some before I do any type of stretching off the ice. I absolutely love using my rumble roller, as it really gets into my muscles (hurts so good type of thing), then from there, I will work towards my deeper stretches to get things moving even more.

That's a great idea! I love foam rollers!

@@CoachJulia They're also really great for those times where you're pressed for time on getting onto the ice, and a great way to work on loosening up tight muscles for flexibility.

Thank you Julia, Do you think that I can perform without a coach by my side 🌬❔ I have to know how to crossover but BACKWARD and I can’t do it alone or may you tell me which Lessons from yourself I have to work . I’m going to my little Mountain in one month and Over there , I can skate 49 hours by week but I need your priceless Advices my dear. Yesterday was only my 39th time on the ice and I try my hardest, but my hardest is not enough and I’m under contract for a friend of mine really knew in France. I’m crying out to you somewhere ’cause , this fear stop me. I’m a dancer and it’s hard to bend too , a dancer doesn’t have to bend its legs and for ice dancing we must . I’m so unright. Thank you if you can help me , I ’m not ashamed to be not okay, I was proud of myself but I’m not anymore , I don’t believe in me now and it’s wrong for my Choregraphia.

Is it ok with if a woman wears a man’s figure skate? I hate the idea that the women wear white skates so I would like to switch it up and get into my figure skating journey.
@CoachJulia2 жыл бұрын
Women can definitely wear men's skates, just make sure the width is correct for your foot. Sometimes men's skates can be a bit wider.
