More athletes on youtube need to suggest more stretching. Great job. As once a martial artist I have a unique respect for your craft.

Hi Coach, before you said it, I thought of the Ina Bauer move you taught and made it look so easy... I've been working on the boards stretching my hips, feels great, thank you and Abigail.

Fantastic! Keep the stretching up and you will soon be able to get the Bauer!

Foof, I’ve never been flexible, even as a child. Started figure-skating at 45. Great routine and I’ll try to do it as much as I can. It’s difficult right now, but I’m sure it will get better.

Fingers crossed you will! I'm almost 40 and although I did some sports before, for many years I did no stretching, no exercises... I was only an average employed mother. I'm third month back on the ice and really doing stretching and some power and balance exercises almost daily now and I see surprising results already! Minus several kilograms, minus (8 up to 13!!) centimeters around my belly and hips and legs. My strenght, balance abilities and flexibility are on a completely new levels! In less than three months! When I started, I wasn't even able to stand still on one leg longer than for a second or two! The key is to do it regularly, in smaller amount, but really daily if possible, 20 min. daily can be enough if you'll get your routine. Play some music to it, burn a candle, make yourself time for yourself. I wish you the best! We are not old, we can manager, we will manage! 💪😉

Thank you for this tutorial! I was wondering, is this set of exercise a full one, meaning - besides the warm up, can it be done daily without any other exercise? I'm asking because I've read and heard a lot that muscles need to be stretched on both sides, and I'm too noob about stretching to judge that myself.
@CoachJulia3 жыл бұрын
You can certainly do this every day, or you can rotate it with other stretch sequences. I have a few posted here, you could alternate between them.

I have difficulty with INTERNAL hip rotation both flexibility and mobility. Any exercise recommendations for that?

Quick question: how do you store your skates at home? I was told to just tie them and then hang them by the laces on a hook on the wall so that’s what I’ve been doing (with the soakers on). Is this correct or do you recommend something else?
@CoachJulia3 жыл бұрын
As long as you keep them in a dry place, with dry soakers on you should be fine. I leave mine in my locker at the ice rink. After I take them off I thoroughly dry them, and then put on dry soakers.
