Very true! low volley and all other type of return are not wrong. In the game we have to deal with it sometime. So we need to practice not only the "right" motion. but also the "wrong" motion.

Ryan, Thanks. Makes a lot of sense and practice is needed as it is almost the opposite motion that you have instructed for forehand and backhand shots. That is to start high, drop the racquet, and finish high. Best wishes, Bob

I want to see Ryan play Pickleball and handle dinks. 🤠 QUESTIONS: 1. Did you have Proton ball machine give you a forehand and backhand volley alternating? It is that precise as those are only a few feet apart? I am "this close" to getting one (just got to justify the cost of $2K for that thing). Got to look up the your offer code before I buy. I won't forget to do that Ryan! 2. I feel like I am in "no persons land" with high volleys that go low because I am not thinking volley from the service line... I am thinking overhead. Seems like a ton of micro adjustments to be made in just a 1 second...for a low volley that happens where I am expecting an overhead. I bet I would be OK with drills here, but not in real matches. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have tennis instructors telling me I should bend down on the low volleys so that I can still contact the ball near shoulder level. That isn't what the pros do so why do I have tennis instructors telling me to do that?

I did not buy it. The owner of the company asked if he could send me one to try it and give my honest opinion about it. When I got it I couldn’t believe how amazing it was. I was using a SpinShot at the time and hadn’t heard much about the proton up until October of 2023. But after I started using it was hooked. There’s nothing that compares to it. I don't have any problems with low volleys. My last low volley was considered ATP level by my clubmates. The following high volley was my concern. It was terrible, landed in the middle of the net.

An OK video. Your low volleys all when deep cross court (basically back to the opponent). Would have liked to see a change of direction down the line. This is where recreational player will usually chop at the volley to change direction.
