Jsyk, 'tis just the Miner's Standard - being named after the standard measure for lead ore used in the local mines. There is a history of some coal being mined in the area, but I believe the "Standard" is specific to the lead ore for which the area was noted. The pub does v good food btw, check it out! 😎
