I knew even before the opening credits that the music would be especially lovely on this one,but not just the music that you write and compose,it's the filming and editing,the narration and presentation and as always it all comes together to make a beautiful film,watched it on the big screen with the volume up and the 22 minutes flew by,thanks Patrick 👍

That was quite a walk you did there. I find it amazing just how many old stone circle's we have scattered across our countryside. Most think we only have Avebury and stonehenge. Great to see you out and about. You have some beautiful walk's nearby, that thanks to your effort's, we all get to come along too. Lovely to watch, as always. Cheers.

Really gorgeous West Derbyshire countryside, Patrick. These two lead mining villages of Winster and Elton have old buildings of character. The Hall and Market house are two gems of buildings in Winster itself. Nine Stone Close standing stones look imposing where they're situated, and Robin Hood's Stride is an amazing outcrop of gritstone rocks on the hillside there, which I'm sure would tempt most people to venture to. The views around like you say are most excellent, and also seeing the village of Youlgreave in the distance is fantastic. Many thanks for this presentation, Patrick.

Thanks again for watching Ffranc. I love Winster and Elton, and they are only up the road from home. The Nine Stone Close stones are impressive even though there are only four of them 😁 Worth a visit to Robins Hoods Stride too even for the views themselves. All the best 👍

Hi Patrick. You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful location. Thanks for the great video. It brought back a happy memory of a week I spent in Winster in 2014 as a house-swap. My daughter bought some goat's cheese in the little community-run shop and still to this day she says it is the best she has ever tasted.

That was fabulous, I loved it. I have visited places all over Derbyshire but somehow missed Winster and Elton and hadn't even heard of Robin Hoods stride so these need to be on a list of places to visit next time we are in the area. Thanks for a great upload Patrick. Oh by the way this has to be amongst your finest music scores too.

Another great film Patrick. That area is a beautiful one to walk isn’t it? I did a very similar route recently with my wife. I love some of the pretty villages like Winster, Elton and Youlgreave. All have their own unique character. Being even shorter than yourself, I need a helping hand on those old stone styles! They stand the test of time though and don’t become wobbly like the wooden equivalents 😆
@solitaryrambler3 жыл бұрын
Many thanks Anthony. It sure is a beautiful one, not bad for my backyard eh? 😊 Yes I like Youlgreave too. I agree that, although those old stone stiles can be a bit challenging for those of us with shorter legs, they were certainly built to last. All the best 👍

The settlements, landmarks and countryside you saw during this walk looks stunning! Winster has a lot of ancient buildings, like the old Market House and Winster Hall, and Elton has a great parish church and pub (Duke of York). There's a pub by Ludlow called the Castle Inn in Richard's Castle and it doesn't look like its open either, since it looks like a house and the entrance door is shut mostly. Nine Stones Close and Robin Hood's Stride have fantastic views, and for the tall stone stiles you came across, I would possibly manage them since I'm over 6 feet tall haha. The piccolo and choir soundtracks sound perfect as usual, and I'm looking forward to more films in the future! :-)

Winster is lovely Patrick. You certainly are fortunate to have such a great walk on your doorstep. I was thinking, 'I love England/Britain.' I mean where else in the world can you find a house that will let you in and drink? Splendid as were them standing stones something else I associate with this country although Northern Europe does have them. Well, I missed this one but happy to sit back and enjoy now. Thanks Patrick a special end to the day indeed. Mark

Thanks Mark, yes this walk from Winster is great to have close by. Great to be able to have a drink in a house isn't it? One of the many ingredients that makes our country special. Yeah there's loads of stanning stones around here too, and the great thing about them is they nearly all have names of some sorts. Glad you enjoyed this one Mark and as always thanks for watching. All the best to you 👍
