Nice scenic adventure. I did something like this on my KTM 500 dirt bike thru the mountains of Colorado (we had a van to move our overnight gear thru the hotels while we rode 1000 miles in 8 days in the Rocky mountains). The river crossing would be nicely done with a small pulley and some nylon webbing to support the bike on the cable at 5:57 If someone would bring a micrometer to measure the cable diameter, the required pulley size could be specified for the trip :-) Crazy sustained loose, rocky roads to shake your bones, disrupt vision, and beat the bike! 17:18 you said you will fix your bent derailleur hanger... what bent it?

The boys rode that before so knew you could carry the bikes ok! I was behind Gary looking at my GoPro and he stopped sharp in front of me, grabbed the brakes and went OTB, bike slammed De-Railler first..thankfully it bent back ok. Didn’t get it on camera tho..!

Thanks for the love Owen. It's certainly how the sport was intended and what the bike was designed for. All manner of terrain and challenges on this route..It gobbled it all up so well. The only area it struggled (which a normal peddlar would have even more) was on the boggy sections which were almost unrideable..

The Bike Pilot totally agree just not taken mine to places like that as yet. Mental note don’t worry about the bike I know it’s expensive but you have to have fun. Can I ask your thoughts on invis been looking into it just undecided if it’s worth it
@TheBikePilot5 жыл бұрын
Yeh you have to accept it's a mountain bike at the end of the day not a showroom exhibit, but I do try and keep her in good nick which is a lot of admin. It needed quite a bit of work doing to it when it came back yesterday at Berkshire Cycles (New Pads, Tyres, Wheel Re-aligned, Headset creak fixed, New cassette, Chain and Front tooth) but I have done 1000miles on it. Invis is pretty good, it's really fiddly to put on apparently. I think Bike Shops charge 200 to install it, its around a 4-5 hour job...The carbon frame doesn't suffer from frame chips as bad as the alloy models but they put Clear Tape on the main problem areas from the factory now on all bikes after Jan 2019. So I haven't put it on but everyone I know that has, has been glad they did. Yes that is quite a ride. We all said we wouldn't do that again. Box has been ticked now...I'm doing Megavalanche next week so that should be really interesting..!!

The Bike Pilot yes mine has a clear sticker under the frame either side of the Specialized name I’ve noticed. Wow you had a lot done on the return do you think that was because you pushed the bike. I also bought mine from Berkshire bikes have a lot of time for Chris great customer service

More good stuff especially round the back of Harter Fell and the Walna Scar track. Just wondering where the camera is mounted?
@TheBikePilot5 жыл бұрын
It’s on a chesty mount, there’s a link to the kit used. It’s basically an accessory pack for about £16 which has everything you’ll ever need! Not sure where that was but glad your recognised it!!

Hey Phil, Thanks for the comment :) Kev actually had two punctures, so had to change tyre and have the rim checked in Ambleside by the kind folks in the bike shop. Was an awesome day. Day 3 out Sunday..

Just a wee point to avoid any mishaps for anyone heading this way. Don't head for Rhino pass (which is actually Wrynose) as it is a tarmac road not so far from Walna Scar which is the trail they were on. Thoroughly enjoying the vid.

Another great video, looking forward to the rest. What camera mount did you use on your chest?
@TheBikePilot5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Trystan...It's a 'Chesty'. If you have a look in the video description there is a link to the GoPro Accessory kit which I bought which was it in there as well as a car mount, hand holder and a load of extra J clips and screws. It's way cheaper to buy it that way than individually..!

Hey 👋, awesome 👏! Did you Switch to magic Mary? What percentage were you riding mainly ? Cheers Phil
@TheBikePilot5 жыл бұрын
Hey Philipp, Yes straight off the bat as the Butchers are far too thin. I finished off these tyres on this ride and have just Switched to Maxxis DHF and DHR ready for Megavalanche next week as need the sidewall protection...they are awesome..But then today was dry and dusty so perfect. Was mainly on ECO set at 20% assist / 30% max power. I used Trail only as a boost on the brow of a hill and barely any Turbo only when it was really rocky or I was just about to stall but it was hard to keep the front down!!
@philippkellner47575 жыл бұрын
The Bike Pilot awesome bro! Also had the magic Mary on my last bike ..they also offer another alternative with better side protection. But I mean the maxxis are also pretty decent. Super excited what you guys report of the megave ..wish you guys a great time and safe return downwards:D

Thanks man. We are 'VLogging' all week for the Mega so should be some awesome content coming up..
