Great shot of the ocean in the distance! Such views almost (almost) make your feet hurt less! But at least the water situation is better than feared. Having enough water at the end of the day really helps the morale!

It's funny. I spent most of the southern section looking forward to this bit since I remembered the ocean views and all the flowers. Only to get up there and remember how bad the trail was in that section. Always something :)

Matt there was a guy started at mt katahdin just before Christmas hiking sobo on the AT. He had no one to talk to until he met the nobo bubble.

If I ended up doing the AT again I'd probably go southbound. I think it would fit my temperament better. Springer is just such a letdown compared with Katahdin

Maybe my greatest regret is being an old widow with limited income because you’re well worth supporting. If not for my granddaughter supplying me with this iPad and unlimited use I would miss seeing this.

with all the bushwacking, you have to be expending a major amount of calories. what are you eating during the day to keep your energy up?

I just kind of eyeball my trail food usually. If you look at my pre Backbone Trail video I did cover how I do my food but I basically get a decent dinner, decent breakfast, then have a major item, a cookie item, and a few bars. I’m not real scientific since a lot of the 10 month hike last year I had to go with whatever I had available
