I love these videos!! I love how you don’t waste any part of the animal and if you don’t use it you explain why, you’re educating people on marine life and how to properly handle it as well as how to SUSTAINABLY catch and use marine life without damaging any ecosystems and habitats. You cover up the places which you didn’t find anything and throw back anything you don’t feel is suitable to use, so it can grow and be used again. I really appreciate people like you educating the masses on how to sustainability collect and harvest sea life without damaging the ecosystem. The world will thank you 💞

The Fish Locker thank you!! I hope more people can learn and protect these habitats as well! Even in your fishing videos you show how to do it sustainably and throw back any bycatch which you don’t intend to use. The fact that you are just as concerned about the environment as me and many others and you’re willing to do this shows real passion and dedication. It means everything to me as I’m sure it does to you as well. I hope you have a wonderful day as well and everything is well 💙✨🐠

@@TheFishLocker Three weeks later and the world is closing down because of the corona virus. What is totally baffling to me is how many online are complaining that they don't know what they're gonna do with their kids unexpectedly out of school for three weeks or more. [We just closed our schools for three weeks in our province]. I do not understand the dilemma. We would have celebrated an unexpected 3 weeks of kidlet being home. So many things to explore on our little plot of land, lots of free time to spend in the kitchen as we delve into different ways to cook out of the pantry, all the arts & crafts supplies waiting to be opened and big projects tackled, so many things to do. I was always surprised when Kidlet's friends would remark "my parents don't do stuff like this" after we spent an afternoon learning how to build different kinds of fires for cooking, heat, banking for overnight etc. It makes me sad to read "These kind of parent/child relationships are rare these days".

- We have a little jar with our really special shells in but I prefer to leave them if we can. As you know they can provide homes for other creatures and eventually break down and become the sand. :)

Wow, great video. You give so much great information, so many different seaweeds I had no Idea. I only fish in lakes and small ponds, twice a year my friends and I charter a boat out of Newburyport, MA up by New Hampshire. We enjoy being out on the water. Thank you so much, John, for all the great videos. My best to you and your family.

- Thank you Mark, we are blessed with such abundant life on our shores. Hopefully if we can help people to learn a little more about it, taking care of it will be an easier challenge. All the best Mark, from Cornwall in the UK. :)

Lovely video as always, mate. As many people have said before, I share the happiness that I have learnt things once again. Pitty there was not a cook at the end, but you cant have everything!
@TheFishLocker4 жыл бұрын
Vikotnick - Haha. Yeah as I say in the video it is not a wise practice to forage around harbours and working boats. It’s a sure fire way to end up poorly. I am glad you’re enjoying the videos.

Your knowledge of marine life is astounding. From the fish to the tiniest things on the beach, you know what everything is. What is your background, if you don’t mind me asking? Are you by chance a marine biologist? I just love the knowledge you share on your channel.

PNWSillyHeart I was going to ask the exact same thing :)
@TheFishLocker4 жыл бұрын
PNWSillyHeart - I come from a coastal town and spent my childhood on the shore with my siblings and cousins. This began my passion for marine life. I did study marine biology and eventually became a fisheries officer for several years protecting the local area. I am now just a passionate amateur sharing my love for the outdoors with people. 😊🦀🐚🐟💙
