I love the Amtrak Cascade paint scheme. The paint scheme fits the region it runs in, looks good on the equipment, and also looks great in almost any types of conditions. In my opinion is one of the few paint schemes that the chargers actually looks good in. Great video Mike, so much great camera shots you did in this video. ❤️👍🏻😎

Those Raised Letter K5LA horns on the WSDOT SC-44 Charger horns sound awesome especially with the quill on WSDOT 1404! That’s the main reason the SC-44 Charger is one of the locomotives I personally revere. Plus this is very amazing Amtrak Cascades Action in the snow!

@ the best part about them is how they can sound like a steam whistle when quilled. Some of them have overblowing quills where it makes them sound like a steam whistle. Especially some of the CDTX Chargers on the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner Roster. It seems like some of the WSDOT Charger Units have the overblow quill to them.

Thank you, David! Most of these were filmed in Bellingham, WA. The more scenic clips were closer to the Fairhaven neighborhood and most of the rest were from downtown. The night scenes at the end were at the Mount Vernon, WA station.

My understanding is that there are no immediate plans to retire them. As things stand, they are expected to continue in service once the AIROs arrive.

Yes, usually it leads in one direction. That particular talgo cab car had an issue, so it did not lead for a few months until it was fixed. They didn't have a lot of time to work on it because the train set was in service every day.
