Coaster Parody: X2 at Six Flags Magic Mountain

It's a fan favorite at Magic Mountain, and considered by many to be one of the best coasters ever made, but not everyone sees it that way! Though it was the last ride Arrow ever made, the ride is known for being rough and jerky. This made it perfect for a parody!

I can understand someone not being a fan of X2 but ranking it below Green Lantern is blasphemy

Even if you "do not like X2" or the newest option, the S&S free spin...if a Zacpsin that barely spins, more like rocks and does next to nothing...I mean the basic models look like prototypes that never belonged in the park, the "Green Lantern model" and "Insane" overseas which is indentical does nothing til nearly hitting the brake run, killing all momentum that you might've flipped. You'll probably flip at the end, otherwise you'll just get banged up the whole ride. And for as short as it is, it makes no sense. I mean, at least on a Vekoma SLC, you got a good ride duration, so of course your banged up and dissapointed that apparently only B&M can make a good invert (leaving Intamin out because 1. Volcano is a launch coaster and while inverted it's like a totally different breed and 2. normal intamin ones aren't in the US and I doubt they work too well intamin downtime sucks).

Green Lantern is better than X2 by a long shot. I've had some terrible rides on GL but I've also had some super intense and super awesome ones. Never had a good ride on X2.

There's an easy way to get guaranteed good rides on X2. It's called going to Japan and riding Eejanaika instead.

88.5 degrees is a pretty important design choice, this ride was built before the advent of spring loaded bogeys and so the transition to fully vertical would have caused a jolt both as the train transitioned to being supported by the underside wheels and when it went back to the topside wheels.

I'm a Six Flags fanboy, not Magic Mountain though. More like, I don't like Cedar Fair very much but I LOVE Six Flags.

Yeah, I get what you are saying. I mean, Cedar Fair parks generally are better looking as in they have cement, they are really clean, they have great landscaping, and they usually do well with keeping up with the paint. But Six Flags usually has more themeing, most of the parks have great landscaping, and I think overall, Six Flags is a lot more fair with new additions every year. No matter what, every park gets something new whether it is a flat package, a single flat, a water slide, or a coaster, they always get something new. Cedar Fair is not really fair with their new additions. Cedar Point usually gets a coaster, it is it always a huge coaster. Some of the other larger to mid sized parks get a new flat or a water park addition. And then the small parks like Dorney, Valleyfair, and Michigan's Adventure don't usually get anything big.

It should still be made into a sit-down (along with Six Flag's Green Lantern, though that one would be better removed for a giga or a wing and put at six flags america floorless), be the totally opposite side of the country's Incredible Hulk, but probably still better (How The Incredible Hulk has won best coaster makes about as much sense to me as how Millennium Force has won, aka I don't get it)

Anyone who hasn’t ridden X2 in the back row NEEDS to! I don’t scream on roller coasters very often any more, but the back of X2 is so intense that I scream like a little girl through the whole thing! 10/10, would ride in the back every time

I rode X2 and I actually thought it was pretty good. And since it was over 100° I only had to wait 15 minutes. I got the outside seat, but I still liked it. It's one of the only rides that made me legitimately scream

I agree. The calf banging is SO painful. The solution I found was to keep your legs/calves lifted off the seat like you're doing crunches with the lower half of your body.

x2 is fun because every single time I go on it I instantly regret it at the chain lift. For the people who say there is head banging, I disagree because I just put my head back. The only downside to that is if you do indeed put your head back your are now subjecting your calves to be broken instead. Never the less, without a doubt the best ride in the park because it and Green Lantern are the only two rides you should be actually scared of because both of them hurt... a lot. But still it offers an experience like nowhere else in the US, and is kick ass doing it. 10/10

Coaster King I've never experienced pain on X2. I've ridden the ride 5 times and never had any pain coming off it. I do agree that it is very fun. It is more than just a 10/10- it is 11/10.

X2 actually scares me each time and I’ve ridden it four times now. I was there yesterday and I began shaking as soon as I got to the loading area and once going up the lift hill I began freaking out and began screaming right before the first drop.

Sorry, but Viper hurts a LOT more. X2 just rattles me around some, but it's totally worth it, and if I put my head back I'm okay. Viper makes me feel like some boxer has been punching me in the side of the head repeatedly. I've considered taping a pillow to my head next time.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is my home park and I agree 90% to what this video showed. The waiting time is 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours. On a good day though is at least 20-30 minutes. It does experience delays often making the waiting line even longer. The ride is not always rough though. When it's rough, it gives me neck pain that lasts for 4 days. There are some times that it feels smoother though. I would rank it higher than green lantern. And it's still on my 5 favorite coasters at the park. Great video lol
