I’ve finished for twenty years or more. I’m hopeful you keep right on teaching, definitely a lost art

I will. Through my career, I had to learn most of it on my own, I watched people and picked up tricks here or there. No one took the time to explain how it all works and that is where I hope to come in. I will be making a level 5 finish series next week.

That milwaukee fastback with the screwdriver is a great knife for drywall. Quickly recess any clickers. I love mine.

Ha ha, that’s awesome that you saw that. They are bad ass. Can cut out bad board and screw in the tickers. You pay attention well.

I was just going to ask you where you got that screwdriver with the clip I've been using those lame putty knives with the screwdriver on the back and the putty knife broke so I just hold the handle with the 90° screwdriver on it but the one with the clip and the pocket knife built in is beautiful got to get me one of those

I like your technique. I personally never sand between coats . My only difference I run all no coat with 8 box , probably just habit. I always run with 6 for years, technically your completely right. No coat shouldn’t be coated except the edges.

Thanks, back in 1999 when No Coat was introduced, a rep came dropped off 25 boxes of their jumbo 10’ bead a hopper and roller for us to test. He explained if we did it correctly, we only had to coat the edge and not all the way to the corner.

@@manwithapan I have used Level Line for price around 25.00 box, I use no coat when the budget allows me. Prices are ridiculous lately, I believe No Coat is running around 1 dollar sqft compared to.25 Ct @ sqft for level line. I also love your technique on running up to the wet, I’ve done the same for years, including flats second round to wet angles, really depends on the drying time.

If I have a lot of no coat I will do my first coat with the 3-inch nail spotter it does leave in a little rough but good enough for first coat then pull it tight with the six done deal

Why don’t you use no coat instead of corner beads?
