I don't quite understand all the hate this adapter is getting online. If it's not for you, no one is forcing you to play with all the settings. Put it at your typical setting and forget it. But if you like to tinker or better yet you go and get fit, this presents the options to dial things in to a finer degree than previously possible. Where's the harm in that??
@bloombeards812Күн бұрын
I agree completely! I have seen a lot of tubers hating on this new adapter for some reason which makes no sense. It’s always better to have options that doesn’t mean you have to use them like you said. That’s one of my biggest complaints with my Sim too is when I turn the loft up or down it automatically opens or closes the face. This adapter will allow people to change the loft and lie independently, which for someone like me will help a ton. Actually surprised it took this long for a company to do this. Within the next few years, my bet is that every company will have an adapter where you can change loft and Y angle independently of each Other…

For me personally, these adapters are a key technology. I'm so sensitive to how the driver looks at address that I've found the look of a driver at my correct loft might not suit my eye so need to find a lower (or higher) lofted driver and then adjust the adapter settings to get the look at address that I like with the proper loft/lie setting. This makes the fitting process essential as well as a good fitter who will take the time to work through this process. In the absence of a good fitter, its a frustrating search for something that takes too much time to figure out to make worthwhile. My only concern about this is if golfers will be able to have these clubs fit in studios who use universal adapters for all of their drivers. Hopefully Club Champion and other brand agnostic studios will all offer a post-fit session to dial in the adapter. If not, then this technology will be vastly underutilized. If Cobra themselves get into the fitting game and offer a dialed-in fitting as part of the sales process, they might have something to differentiate themselves.

This is an outstanding tool. It is revolutionary the ability to fine-tune your good shots so they're even better why would you not pursue this technology. True there are a lot of golfers out there that aren't consistent enough that this really probably wouldn't make that much of a difference however there are a lot of us who like to hold on to our drivers and as we get better we have the ability to go back on a track man or a GC quad and fine-tune further as our swing changes with time and practice.

The way I see this adapter as a high handicapper is I can get the setting that seems to work best for me at the fitting with my current swing. As I hopefully gets better and more consistent I might need a different setting. That scenario could play out several times over the life of the club and my swing. Without this adapter I would be looking a t a new shaft/head or both each time my swing made an incremental improvement.

I feel like this is great for loft and lie adjustments, but lie angle has less of an effect on left/right direction with driver than face angle does. For other adapters that don’t keep the face square (no smartpad) the face can open or close which I think can help more for left/right direction. Those ones aren’t as good if you need a true loft change (since it’s more of a face direction change), but they seem better for the person fighting a slice than a lie adjustment.

It is a magnificent development and definitely an expensive toy to play with. Many of the adjustments are so subtle, and with humans having inconsistent swings people could be playing with this on the course every time they hit a couple of bad shots trying to correct it. And if you have a $1000 auto flex shaft from the previous driver, you cannot put it in this. If someone needs 33 adjustments to try and straighten out their game, they need to just invest a bit of money and go take a few golf lessons and take that part of their game seriously.
