Coyote carguy yeah we talked haha, that’s how you got all the info on my car. No, the CJ doesn’t pick up what you’d think on a gen 3. I’ve done the testing. All they do is carry the power out further. The cams made about a 30whp gain.

@@MustangTTGT The Com Cams Stage-3 see about 40 extra horses according to Hot Rod Mag. Lund is recommending either adding the Steeda air restrictor insert or changing CAI. I removed my Steeda closed box CAI and replaced with the stock CAI. Oil from the oiled high-flow air filter clogged my MAF sensor. @@MustangTTGT id be willing to bet if you did the cams with stock manifold first then compared it to the cj the cj would have better gains vs 18 up intake than it does when swapped on a stock cam car. A cobra jet car needs cams to get the full potential from it the stock cams kinda hold it back which is why it doesn't add much peak power over an 18. A cammed coyote would see bigger gains from the cj is what I'm saying. Carrying the power out a noticeable amount is actually a pretty big deal so saying that is all it does is kinda downplaying the importance. The cj is the superior setup for sure it just needs aftermarket cams to fully show what it can do. The stock manifold was designed around the stock cams of course it works good with them lol.

Bas Tee I have people that swear the 18 ported is the same as a cobra jet. I just don’t think it is myself. That’s why I ported my cobra jet. Trying to build a max N/A 6r80 car. Then once I accomplish this build. I plan on going for some boost.

With cams and a port on the cj along with a big monoblade you will see max gains from it. It will carry the power out more up top and its just plain faster. 18 is a good budget upgrade but the cj is king. If I were doing it I would do it right first time put a pmas intake on it with a monoblade (the small tbodies hold it back...twin 65 or 67 is alot better than stock twin 60 gt500 tbody but it isnt as good as a monobladw). The opening is what separates the cj from everything else the fact so much air can come through not putting a big monoblade negates that that is why you see some people with the 18 peak to peak numbers kinda close. A properly tuned cj with a mono and good pmas will make more peak power and carry the power out alot more especially with aftermarket cams. You made the right choice my friend. Imo I think the cj would leave more of a gap between it and an 18 manifold if it were to be compared on a cammed coyote. Cams let the cj do what it does.

That is because people only worry about peak to peak gains not which manifold is quicker. A properly tuned cj with a proper monoblade will have a few more whp peak vs peak but carry it out alot better up top which is what really makes the difference. Its just a grand brand new you can get a brand new ported one for 1300 which is what I would do. Yes you gotta get an intake and throttle body but you wanna run a mono with it anyways to see its true potential. The opening is what separates it from everything else not putting a mono on it holds back its potential. If you take this into account from the start you'll wait on the cold air to do it all at once so you don't gotta buy twice. It really isn't that much money for how much quicker it'll make the car. People drop 1000 bucks on an axle back that does nothing for powe 9 out of 10 times but don't wanna pony up similar money for something that is going to make as big a difference in performance let alone looks as the cj does. The key is dont castrate the cj by putting a smaller twin bore on it...put a ported cj on with a mono and upgrade the cams too if you want max na this is how its done and it isnt just about peak to peak whp (which will also be higher on a proper cj setup) its about how it carries the power out alot further up top. That is the key to what makes the difference. If you wanna go quick as you can na cobra jet is the ticket idk why people think its so expensive for the difference it makes it really isn't that expensive compared to any other mod. The more mods like cams and long tubes you have the more distance you'll see between the two intakes. 18 is a good budget upgrade for earlier cars for sure but the best intake is the cj if you wanna go max na irs the only way and it really doesn't cost that much considering the results compares to any other mod and it also looks badass to boot. To each his own. If you don't care about going quick as you can na, stick with the 18..lol

Mike Fyxdt. . Honestly Mike i have some knowledge of the different Dyno's but not enough to answer you accurately. . . There is no standard unfortunately. . . and all dyno's vary a little. . The dyno jet give's std figured and SAE (adjusted for DA). . the mustang dyno gives its standard number i guess and its corrected number (corrected for DA) the two dynos measure horsepower differently . . . The Mustang dyno is known as the heart break dyno since the numbers are low. .. but we know the added 12% is pretty accurate adjustment based on track times and in some cases where some cars were previously run on dyno jets. . . Personally i think both of the cars in this video were making more power . . especially the orange one. .

Coyote carguy - the heartbreak dyno - I love it! I wish SAE or the automotive lobby or someone would just say, “On June 1 everyone will use the following calibrations...” and the results would be the same whatever you test on. I suppose what really matters is that if you start testing on one type of machine, that you use the same kind of machine to do your follow up testing on. What is most important is gains or losses, and the numbers themselves are just for bragging rights.

2018+ manifold and cobra jet have better numbers than the GT350 intake manifold. The 18+ and cobra jet have similar numbers, but the cobra jet delivers power and torque more smoothly throughout the curve and doesn't die off at 7k rpm.

A fbo cj gen 3 can def make 500 to the tires on e85 even through the 10r80. Every car may not see that but it is certainly very doable some have even done 500 with the stock manifold on dynojets. It is a fact that dynojet reads a decent bit higher. It put down 485 on this dyno. Dyno is just a tuning tool so absolute numbers aren't that important but they can def hit 500+ with a cj e85 and fbo with a gen3.

Personally i would rather have a Gt 350 intake . . especially for the street . .. the cobra jet requires lowering the motor with Special Steeda motor mounts . . the gt 350 intake also retains the IMRC's which helps the engine develop part throttle torque at low rpm. . . a better choice in my opinion ..

If you want max na power the cj is what you need you might as well get it ported too for max gains. There are clearance issues so make sure not to forget that you need drop mounts or a cowl hood. You need at least l&m intake cams (idk if they make em for 18 up) to get the most from the cj. The intake cams and cj neither one lose low end torque but both together gain a ton of top end power and carry it out alot better it will def make your car faster at the strip. All the fast na guys run a cobra jet there is a reason for that because when it comes to na its king. People get too caught up in peak to peak gains. If you swap it onto a stock cam 18 you may not see more than a few whp peak to peak gains but it carries it out alot more...a ported cj will obviously see the most power that is why I recommend it. A good port job is worth at least 10-15 whp over non ported for the price you pay for a good port its a no brainer imo. You will be faster with a properly tuned cj that is a fact.

You'll get close to cj peak to peak but the cj carries it out alot more up top. A ported cj will again spank a ported 18. You want max na power cj is where its at. Carrying the power out further is a big deal it will make your car faster all the fastest na guys use a cobra jet there is a reason for that. You want a good intake setup and a monoblade tbody to get the most out of the cj putting it on with stock gt500 tbodies holds back its potential. Ported cj for max gains at the dyno or at the track. If all your interested in is peak power the 18 does good especially for the price but if you want the car to be faster and pull harder up top its cj all the way.

My 18 a10 with with stock manifold and tb , JLT, full exhaust and 93 tuned so far I had smoked some stock kitty 😺, bo ctsv, fbo cammed 6 gen camaro ss, bus gab snack packs 😊 and still get amazing gas mileage. I can't be any happier.

I like your videos but i have a dynojet in my shop for almost 20 years and never compared the numbers to a mustang dyno, it almost seems like you wish the dyno you use was a dynojet. I know your trying to give the viewers knowledge but the poor guy you dyno at must feel bad when you tell every pull the numbers. Still like your videos though!

Thats what i try to do. .. . we have found through experience with this Mustang dyno that the 12% adjustment is pretty accurate ... in the case of my car when it was in stage one form i made 651 to the wheels on a dyno jet .. . on this mustang dyno the estimated dyno jet was 649 whp. .. this is common on this mustang dyno. . . now i cant speak for other mustang dyno's ... . . but we know this one .. .we also see track times consistent with the est dyno jet figures quite often with a lot of cars. .
