PERFECTION: This scene was perfectly written and perfectly performed. The way Johnny Lawrence tells Miguel, "If you want to impress this chic, you gotta take her to where I used to take all my babes back in the day" made me wonder "Where did Johnny take his babes back in the day." Although Miguel was taught by Johnny, he always get the paralels/connections with Daniel-san. He is the real hero in this series. Miguel was bullied and begged to learn karate. / Daniel was bullied and asked Miyagi to learn karate. Miguel was rescued by Johnny, who fought with Kyle / Daniel was rescued by Miyagi. Daniel and Miguel started learning karate after the said rescue. Miguel has a crush in a girl who, at the beginning, is a popular girl. / like Daniel with Ali. Miguel fought Kyle because he was being a jerk with Sam / Daniel fought Johnny at the beach, because Johnny was harassing Ali and breaking her radio (even tho Johnny violently pushed Daniel first). Miguel and Sam went to the same place Daniel and Ali went on a date and took those pictures, like Daniel did with Ali. Not to mention the kiss, it happened in the same place. Miguel did the crane kick (although it was more of a funny scene, saying he copied Daniel) Miguel went to Sam' s house and got disappointed because of a misunderstanding (he thought Sam was cheating on him) / Daniel saw Ali dancing with Johnny and got jealous because of a misunderstanding. Miguel doesn't have a father, like Daniel. Although Miguel went to the costume party as skeleton (Johnny's costume), he took beat by a gang, like Daniel during the costume party too. Miguel won the tournament like Daniel ( however hearing the bad imoral advices Johnny taught him. ) Although Johnny changed his mind a little bit late and taught to Miguel about honor, Miguel was more merciful than Robby, who is being learning all the good morale philosophys with Daniel since always, then Robby decided to have revenge on him (?) Miguel is the only one who is seen using a bike, like Daniel did in the past. I am pretty sure that Sam and Miguel are endgame. And pretty sure Miguel is the real new "Daniel" of this generation in Cobra Kai, instead of Robby. The series is so well directed and developed.

ChrisC11291980 Omg I thought the same thing! I even came to a point where he would corrupt the weaker students instead as well as hawk and Miguels and Johnny would try to put an end to their doing. But Silver and Barnes wouldn't go down without one last tournament as they still want revenge against miyagi do. So they step aside and talk to Johnny about having the glory of Cobra kai ruling the tournament once and for all. It could go something like that. But it would be better if they wrote it.

Miguel and sam Cobra kai season 1 : went on a date, actually acted like a couple, got along in school, took pictures together, miguel wanted to meet her parents Cobra kai season 2,3,4,5 : the only two things they have in common is karate and an octopus Miguel and sam were so cute and adorable in s1, after that, they went downhill, like in the later seasons, other than karate and an octopus, they have nothing else in common, even in the prom episode, they were still only talking about karate

it seemed like the writers got lazy with they relationship, they could’ve actually went to a lakers game for a date, S2 they weren’t dating and the last 2 episodes in S3 they did good, but S4 wasn’t that good for them and S5 was a lil better

I can’t help but smile throughout this whole entire thing and I’ve seen it so many times. I just really love this show! The nostalgia hits so hard. 🥲 the song and the differences between back then in Karate Kid versus now - all the shifting dynamics. Woah! 🤯 this show is fantastically unreal 👏🏽

Johnny actually was a great mentor for Miguel and made sure he didn't become a jerk like Johnny used to be. Johnny wasn't always a bully and he later outgrew being one. Johnny is a good man.

I'm probably a bigger fan of Robbie's character then most. However, I really want Miguel and Sam to end up together. It just works. Mind you as I said I'm a big fan of Robbie's character. This was one of my favorite scenes in season 1. This is how you do nostalgia the correct way.
