Problem with the both of them is that their being hypocrites to each other; Johnny thinks that Daniel's methods are stupid compared to his even though he himself is lost in translation of what his trying to do while Daniel's impossibly high moral standard puts pressure not just to Johnny but their students as well, alienating those that can't conform but at the same time he himself can't live up to it. The writers really did their homework thoroughly in this season.

Daniel talks a lot about Myago-Do being defensive only, but some moves he's done on this show, including this episode and in previous episodes and previous seasons, have been offensive. The style of offense is just different from Johnny's. Also, to know how to counter-attack and also avoid getting hit, you need to know how to go on the defensive. So, Johnny knows how to defend too. So, deep down, they both must know the importance of both offensive and defensive fighting and it's not just 1 or the other. With this slow integration of the 2 styles & it seems the kids are starting to see the practicality of learning both, I wonder if the show will eventually start incorporating more MMA-style fighting too and not just traditional martial arts fighting, perhaps next season?? Johnny telling Miguel how he would fight Daniel and "take him to the mat" made me wonder if that was meant to be a hint toward MMA.
@roronoauchiha693 жыл бұрын
His first kick on the show.
@semajbrown2593 жыл бұрын
Daniel using offensive moves could be because Silver taught him cobra Kai back in KK3 I believe.
@hanziggy68623 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, I would consider Mr. Miyagi helping protect Johnny from Kreese after the big tournament was going on the offense. I also would consider Daniel's Crane kick in the tournament or how he got himself and Kumiko away from Chozen in KK2 (using what Miyagi showed him before) as going on the offense. I would also say Chozen went on the offense when he and Daniel sparred against each other last season (and they both know Miyagi-Do). So, I think Daniel may be a bit mistaken that Mr. Miyagi would never approve of offensive moves, especially if it involves helping someone else, just like Daniel did to help Robbie against his former friends who stole all those wallets on the beach back in season 2. No martial artist should ever want to intentionally go out of their way to start a fight. But, if a fight ever does start, going on the offense could help end the fight before it ever gets out of hand. Daniel may need to learn you can go on the offense but not be a hothead about it.

@@ashleydavis2124 Johnny was the one that suggested the rematch and the winner take over the dojo teaching only their way and didn't listen to Miguel when he said he wanted to learn Miyagi-do, plus he was getting jealous of Daniel and Miguel bonding. He did seem willing to sort it out before their match though. Daniel was willing to embrace Eagle Fang until Silver came back into the picture. I think he was thinking about the last time he embraced other teachings outside of Miyagi-do, it changed him in negative way and he was trying to overcompensate out of fear and just couldn't let go of the fact his way isn't the only right way. Again, they both needed to get over themselves to co-exist and listen to what the students wanted.

The stupid thing about the whole Johnny vs Daniel thing is that they never consider at any point to split the classes. Plus Daniel is a healthier eater and tends to focus more on core strength and flexibility, so one days training wouldn't have made a difference but it left Daniel fresh and limber, plus you really shouldn't exercise when you're that hung over, Daniel gave his body enough time to process the alcohol and probably replenished his fluids. Also remember, Johnny hadn't practiced for years before the start of the series, where as Daniel taught Samantha and still regularly practiced, he was probably better than Johnny at the start of the series, the two didn't have a proper fight until the end of season two, yet I bet if Johnny had beat Daniel that early none of you would have complained about that inconsistency because Johnny is so "badass".
