In the last three seasons costume design always dressed Miyagi-dos in blue and Cobra Kai/Eagle Fang in red (with Sam frequently wearing both colors) so audience could tell them apart in a fight. So the purple choice for Hawk represented the attempt to merge the principles of both. Also note the first ep of S4 in the last scenes Miguel and Sam are wearing opposite their usual colors, foreshadowing thr conflict with their senseis that we see in S4.

I don't agree with either for splitting up, but I love what the show did to set up their separation. Johnny is tired of being looked down upon by Daniel, and Danny can't accept anything other than Miyagi-Do, because that would imply moving on from Mr. Miyagi. He felt he betrayed him back when Silver first entered his life, and he doesn't want to repeat his mistakes.

@Callie and to be fair they're all clearly older then the kid and a 3 on 1 fight isn't cool. I'm sure hawk agrees multiple on one isn't cool, considering, if you've watched the full season now..and he was clearly bullying as seen later on as well, hawk has always been about it, and he definitely bullies this kid🙄 clearly he should know the kid is new, he knows who is in cobra Kai. If he really wanted to give advice or any of that he could've talked to the kid instead of pinning him to the stall, twice his size and twice the skill😶

Also, he didn’t know why Kenny was about to strike and tbh it doesn’t matter because he stopped a fight and a potential beat down on a kid, so he did him a favour. If Hawk was “bullying him” like you said then what was Anthony and his friends doing? It’s not even close. His real bullies were in his school, not Eagle Fang and Miyagi Do

Something that might have worked well for communication between Daniel and Johnny would be for them to have moderators whenever they've got a talk. They each are way too stubborn to accept the other's point of view (it's a given for Johnny who's always has this Alpha male persona, but even more so for Daniel, who, as the inheritor of Miyagi-do, is supposed to be the level-headed one, but is very much a hot head himself), so either Amanda (who's obviously got Daniel wrapped around her finger, and is actually surprisingly on good terms with Johnny) or Miguel, (who's also got his sensei wrapped around his finger, and surprisingly, is also on good terms with Daniel) would do the job just fine. And if either one of them is not enough, then why not both at the same time, in a "good cop bad/cop" dynamic duo. I'm pretty sure each time one of them shuts down his or her own sensei/husband, the other one would be like "wow" (and mentally taking note). That could have been an unexpected and very fun pairing for the season.

I've seen so many call her annoying mostly because she says some things to Tory but I feel like so many people forgot that she has so much trauma and it makes total sense for her character. Tory literally tried to kill her, it's totally justified why Sam doesn't trust her and hates that her mom 'likes' Tory now. I think she's a very misunderstood character and I adore her.

To be honest, I felt a little bait and switch here. I hated that they split up johnny and daniel for the rest of the season. I know others will disagree with me, but nothing will change how I feel about it. It's my only real criticism for this season.

I think they had to do it to show why Cobra Kai was winning in the tournament. They were focused and were learning both styles. Miyagi do and eagle fang were busy fighting each other. If they had came together for the whole season and taught the way they were supposed to they would have won. Everyone would have known how to fight both styles. They hindered themselves and their students by not teaching both. That’s why cobra Kai took the lead in the points. They knew miyagi do. They trained the right way. Sam, Eli, Miguel made it so far bc they knew both styles better than the other students
