Cobra Kai Cast in the New Power Rangers Movie: A Fan Casting Discussion

Honestly i really like the idea of the cast being used. For me if there are any lock in would be Xolo as Jason, Gianni as Billy, Tanner as Robby, and Mary as Kim. The only two I can see being switched would be possibly being Peyton and Jacob. But I can see Jacob showing up to play Matthew Cook. But I would love to have all six.

I’m down for Gianni, Tanner, and Peyton as a part of the core six. Xolo’s great but I feel him as Jason would be underutilizing him. (This coming from a mentality of later TV show Jason not comics Jason). Although I could definitely see Jacob coming in as Skull

@ you know I never picture Jacob as skull but it could totally work. And yeah if they do adapt it I would hope it’s more in line with the comics since they give the characters and actors a lot more to work with.

Um the character Zara Malik is portrayed by 13x World Champion and 4th degree black belt Rayna Vallandingham and I honestly think she would be perfect as Kimberly to be honest 😊💖💖

Casting a group of people from another series seems like the worst idea. Feels cheap to me, not to mention it being harder to think of them as new characters rather than their original characters.

Agreed. There are some great parallels between the two. But blind casting and transferring of actors between roles is lazy casting. Certainly some of the Cobra Kai cast could hold their own based upon their acting chops, but the entire MMPR shouldn’t be just them. Also there are dozens of qualified actors that could be used from outside Cobra Kai.
