The match was rigid! If you watch their fight, Sam caught her with the point then she stepped out. The ref called it wrong then she was supposed to lose a point for that elbow meaning Sam would of won the fight.

Bros, Tory was out of bounds and Sam technically won. The last point didn't matter, but Tory would of scored it. It shows that they're evenly matched but Tory won the moral victory. While stripping her of the validity of it. Masterful writing. Masterful.

Kreeses arc was done beautifully. And I I actually felt bad when they arrested him. It felt like a chance for redemption was spread wide open only for Silver to "Sweep his leg" right from under him.

Keep in mind that Terry had good intentions when he came back. He wanted Cobra Kai to be what it was supposed to be originally. Helping people use their fear as weapons but Kreese kept pushing him. Terry has a demon inside of him but he managed to lock it away but Kreese just had to let it out. Now he's paying for it. I think Robby is going to Mexico with Johnny. One thing nobody is talking about is the fact that IF Chozen took over his Uncle's business and grew it even more that means that not only do they have martial arts resources they would have major financial resources to possibly rival Terry.

Silver did to Kreese what he did to Johnny at the end of Season Two. He took over. Kreese forgot that what goes around comes around because he was too sure that he was the one in charge of Silver, never realizing he was being played by a true master.

Seeing Daniel and Chozen standing side by side together bowing at Mr.Miyagi’s grave is one of the most wholesome things I’ve ever seen in a show💯

Kreese realized he stole the opportunity from Johnny to win or lose on his own. That's what the problem was. Then Johnny ended up losing while he played dirty, which is 10x worse. That's why it's great when he says to Tori "It's your fight now, it's up to you". I don't even think Daniel has to step aside. I honestly think they're going to confront Daniel and Chozen for Miyagi-Do being open. At this point, I imagine Tori would have revealed to Amanda the truth. Chozen is going to either say "Act of COWARD" or "We do not honor bet with COWARD". The ref did lie. Sam's punch caused Tory to step into out of bounds, she wasn't out of bounds when it landed till after. So that means on Sam's next point, she should of won. I see a lot of people here claiming that is the only time the ref did that, but no, it isn't. Go back to Tory vs Devon's fight. When Tory hits Devon when Devon is already out of bounds, the ref GIVES Tori the point anyways. Terry then mocks Johnny by looking at him, smirking and shrugging his shoulders. He has a bias to Tory/Cobra Kai. I honestly thought Kreese got poisoned, because Silver put his glass down without drinking it. I think Robby will actually join Johnny in their search for Miguel, but Tory is going to go to Miyagi-Do. I don't want Sam to go down this path, but I think she's going to go full blown Chozen attitude from Karate Kid 2 when it comes to Tory. Chozen and Daniel are going to see it.

I don't disagree with you about robby helping his dad Johnny to find Miguel because Robby is realizing that he making his mistakes. I hope that Robby will help his dad to find Miguel. Chosen is better fighter and he knows more migayi-do and wouldn't much surprised me that there is some offense secrets in migayi-do that Daniel doesn't know about.

Jay perfectly summarized why this series is so superior to so many other cash grab continuations. This series respects the original characters, makes them relevant to new characters, makes the old fans like the new characters, and makes a new generation like the original characters. At times it's soap-opera-like, at times it's overblown or a bit crazy, but the sum of it is a masterclass in story telling.

Tory fought fair, but the ref called her out of bounds on what should have been Sam's second point... she was in bounds, and Sam's next point would have won it before the next melee. (Earlier, he had also called Devon in-bounds when she was out of bounds, giving Tory a point, but honestly, she would have won that bout anyway, so it probably didn't make a big difference. If he had, though, she could have been eliminated in the quarters.)

Samantha technically won. The ref called out when Tory foot was actually in when Sam initally hit her so that was Sam's point. The ref made two calls like that during the tournament just so it didn't look like he was cheating for Silver!

Not just two calls. Rewatch the Tory vs Devon fight. He gave the point for Tory when Devon's foot was out of bounds. That was foreshadowing. It’s implied the referee helped CK and Tory through the Tournament.

Chozen is the nephew of Sato, and Daniel is the "son" of Miyagi, so technically, they are cousins--albeit, not by blood, but by karate and honour. And now an evil dude is besmirching and destroying the Miyagi name, so the rivalry and past between Daniel and Chozen are buried because it's family and it's personal. This is the full-out war Kreese predicted back in S-3. The only thing is, I sincerely doubt Kreese could have seen this coming. Even from the grave, Mr. Miyagi is going to destroy Cobra Kai.

Kreese's entire life has been Cobra Kai for 40 years. He does care about his students, but not to the point that he'd let them do anything to hurt the Cobra Kai name, even risking their own freedom and safety at times to protect it, not to mention strangling his best student in Johnny for embarrassing it. But when Tory, the kid who's never given up and ALWAYS had his back despite her own tumultuous life was on the verge of breaking, Cobra Kai stopped mattering altogether. His war with Miyagi, Daniel, and Johnny took a backseat. He became the parent she's never had right then.

@@cjstats1514 He literally tried to kill Johnny AGAIN right before calling up Silver, so people thinking he has this love and respect for Johnny are honestly just projecting what they want Kreese to feel (No disrespect to you) imho. You don't try 2 murders and twice try to destroy the career of someone you care about. On the opposite side, he's only tried to better Tory's life, and there hasn't been one instance of Kreese ever being hard on her. He might have even risked her trust by telling Amanda about Tory's rough home life, but he did it to protect her. Not to mention, he risked serving serious time assaulting (and extorting) that pedo landlord on her behalf. In turn, Tory's defended Kreese against anyone she hears questioning him or his methods.

Tori was actually IN BOUNDS when Samantha scored with that punch to the solar-plexes at 2:08. Tori stepped outta bounds after she got hit, but the ref called "No Point". If that point Samantha scored would've stood, she would been UP on the scoreboard, and would have won that match when she scored that epic DOUBLE PUNCH at 2:26. And of course, we all saw what Silver did at the end of the tournament when Tori saw him pay off the ref. So, with all that being said... Samantha got robbed... Samantha won The All Valley! I hope she(Samantha) gets a rematch or some kind of a redemption & justice in Season 5, and Silver gets exposed. I love this series!

I was glad to see Johnny finally get his props as a champion. Everyone always talks how LaRusso was a two time champ, but he barely won his first tournament and he literally scored only one chicken-shit point the second tournament. Barnes could have beaten him 3-0, LaRusso was straight lucky. Johnny won the tournament when he was 15, won the tournament without a single point being scored on him when he was 16, and lost in the finals 3-2 when he was 17. Johnny was a far more accomplished Champion than Daniel.

Daniel was 2-0 up, with an injury, before Johnny attacked his injured knee...And after only a couple months training. Of Course Daniel was better than johnny. Cus that's how the story was written. They've had to re-balance the characters since then

@@ashscott6068 True, but I think we have to give Cobra Kai some artistic freedom because they are presenting much more nuanced characters, and no one effortlessly outclasses other martial artists in Cobra Kai, the way Mr. Miyagi made a joke of all of his adversaries. Realistically, Daniel would have had no chance against Johnny, who had been training for years and was a former 2 time champion. Mr. Miyagi being a super hero is the only reason Daniel was so absurdly skilled.

I've seen a few reactions to this episode now & people always say how Tory won it fair. All I could think of during that fight when I first watched it was how the ref took a legitimate match-winning point off Sam though. We seen why in the next scene. Not Tory's fault, but no, even if it wasn't later revealed that Silver bribed the ref she still would've been robbed.

I think what most people mean is that TORY didn't cheat or fight dirty. Would she have won if the ref wasn't paid off? Probably not (Sam might have acted differently if she had gotten credit for that point and might have Tory). But, in Tory's mind, she fought fairly and came out on top...until she heard Silver and the Ref and now it's going fester in her mind and drive her away from Cobra Kai. Especially after she learns that Kreese got arrested.

Which is why I included my explanation of "probably". Sam definitely got robbed, bad call or mistake call. And, so did Tory for the same reason. She knows that the trophy means nothing to her since it wasn't honest. What I'm waiting for is to see how hard headed Sam is going to be about it when she finds out.

I am wondering if the kids are all only 16 turning 17 because their prom was a 'junior prom' not senior & I thought this was their last year at school but then I saw their prom said junior not senior so maybe they all turn 17 during seasons 4 & 5 and therefore can still fight or it is "under 18" as in they can be 18 and under.

Sam's not yet in the 'Mutual Respect' fase of their relationship. Sam tries to hide it, even from herself, but she's scared shitless of Tory. To address that fear, she masks it as hate. When Tory went to ask her if she was OK after the final point, while Sam was still in the floor, Sam's face is not of mutual respect. It's the face of panic. At that moment she feared for her life, thinking Tory was going to 'finish her', as Kreese taught her so many times. When Tory didn't, perplexity set in. She didn't understand 'the game Tory was playing', because she's so afraid she can't imagine Tory making a good gesture (remember when Tory arrived at the school?). Sam is broken. She feels broken ever since the school fight, and no one understood so far she needs psychological help to teach her how to deal with her fears. That's why she turned to Johnny this season. What Daniel taught her wasn't helping, she needed to try something different. Her fight was fenomenal, and she would've won if not for the ref, but that doesn't solve her fear, 'cause she knows there they have rules. On the street, unhinged Tory wins every time. Now Sam only needs to realize that she has became as unhinged as Tory was, while Tory, because of what Amanda told her at the 'princess party', is now a bit less. Maybe then they can work things out. And I'm hoping that's something that'll take all 5th season to happen... And it'll start by Tory telling Sam who really won the fight.

Yeah, I think Sam will have to believe Tory has legitimately good intentions when comes clean about the cheating ref. Maybe Tory will show up at the house and hand Sam the trophy like, "This belongs to you."

Sam’s a great character w lots of nuance, she’s flawed but also kind. I like that she’s such a great character without the pitying cause she had a sob story struggle upbringing. I’m kinda tired of the “ I had a rough life” childhood stories to make a character interesting, it’s so overdone that when a character is interesting without it, it feels more special to me. I don’t think she’s as unhinged as Tory, nothing sam came close to the bad things Tory did. Like trying to kill her and breaking into her home

@@itzcandy5896 Agreed. Sam's trying to adapt to a life in which Tory exists, and she's making mistakes, but who doesn't? If I had a psycho trying to kill me I'd probably make mistakes too. I can't help but feel also that Tory is becoming a really good character this season. So far she was just a psycho, now she's becoming more nuanced as well.

You know growing up in the 80s watching all the films I always saw Silver as “Palpatine” and Kreese as “Vadar.” Even though Kreese started Cobra Kai and this show presented Kreese as the “head cobra” this show made me believe I had it backwards. However after this season I see now Silver IS “Palpatine” and Kreese is actually “Plagueis” (his Sith master Palpatine turns on and kills) and Johnny was actually the “Vadar” of the story. I can’t wait for Season 5!! 😏🐍 💯 they showed where the ref cheated when Sam hit Tory and he yelled she was “out of bounds.” Sam would have won b/c her point would have counted. 🥋🐍

Ralph Macchio brought up Hilary Swanks character from The Next Karate Kid in a recent interview and specifically said she's in this same universe. Sure that's obvious with Myagi, but he said it in a confident way sounding like she's gonna make an appearance at some point. Also Kreese going to jail could open the possibility of Dutch showing up. The actor who played him wasn't available to show up in the S2 reunion for scheduling reasons but that he woulda liked to do it. Given the shows insane growth in popularity since that. It seems more likely to happen!

AMAZING moment when all it took was Tory's pleading to win it right for Kreese to realize he'd been wrong all along. He 100% sees himself in her, has molded her into the fighter she is, and her unwillingness to cheat was the tipping point. He absolutely cares for Johnny, but he loves Tory. He risked losing Cobra Kai just so she could finally have a few moments of happiness. They will absolutely end up a family (little bro too) when he's free and her mom passes, and NOT just because it's a cute storyline. It really is the only way Tory would be able to keep her brother safe because she'd never get custody. Plus, she'd be able to stay in school and actually enjoy being a kid. For Kreese, he gets the family he envisioned before his girlfriend's death 50 years ago. Season 4's referenced he's indeed an old man several times. In that spirit, he also gets a daughter to take over Cobra Kai one day when he's gone.

He waived her dues so she'd have a place to come when she needed one.. You're very naive if you believe he does all this just to have a good female fighter on the team. I think Barnes is just Barnes, maybe now a retired national champion whose only blemish on his record is Daniel, which Silver will delight in reminding him. Plus, Tory's had enough to deal with already, and I see Kreese again looking out for her and taking her and her brother in. I thought Miguel's dad might be Silver, so I was wrong there. We'll see, though. You might be right. I put NOTHING past this show's writers at this point. Chuck Norris could be her dad and they'd somehow make it work😂

Don't know how you missed the wrong call with that point from Sam, the filming of that were very deliberate. (I see you discuss it at the end now). Once Sam found her calm she was on a different level than she's been before. It will be interesting to see where Tory goes from here. She fought fair and even ran to check if Sam was ok, that elbow wasn't on purpose. Loved watching along once again with you both. Bring on season 5. Chozen. Let's get it.
