@@EvoGotGame That video was satire and not to be taken seriously. Daniel was not a bully just a flawed kid. Johnny was a bully back then but he wasn't evil just under the influence of bad teaching by John Kreese was the real villain.

@@EvoGotGame Daniel did not constantly start fights, like I said before that video is just a satire and never meant to be taken seriously. I've grown up watching the Karate Kid movies and aware Daniel isn't a saint he was always a hot-head, cocky at times but that what made him human. He certainly isn't the bad guy that some silly video is trying to paint him.

Based on your reaction to this first episode I'm pretty sure you're going to love the shit out of the rest of them. This show is like a perfect mix of nostalgia and current day realism. When I first heard about this I was afraid it was going to be cheesy AF, and it seems like it's about to slide into that at times, but it knows when to reign it back in. Very smart direction with it. Hope you enjoy both seasons. Looking forward to more reactions.

In the original Karate Kid movie, I saw Daniel as a hot-head but a flawed and good kid. Johnny was just a bully, he was out of line with what he did at the beach, and I never blamed Daniel for stepping in, he only did so after he smashed Ali's radio and wouldn't leave her alone. I rooted for Daniel throughout the whole movie but Johnny redeemed himself a bit in then end when he gave Daniel the trophy and then in the part 2 movie Johnny and his gang turned against Kreese who was the real problem. In the series I feel sympathy for Johnny even though he can still be bit of a jerk and root for both him and Daniel to get themselves in order. Neither of them are perfect and I agree they are more alike then they think. They just need to settle their differences and could become actual friends once they do.

Been a Karate Kid fan since I was a teenager. Really connected with its themes since like Daniel I was the new kid in town trying to find my way and I had to deal with bullies. Martial Arts really helped me with protecting myself and discovering who I was as a person. Really enjoying watching Cobra Kai, especially the yin and yang of the characters each episode.

Something came to mind when first watching the pilot. Even a 50 something Yr old Will zapka(Johnny) would make a better Danny rand than loras tyrell. Based on how slow IF is, he can defo fight better and faster. Smh marvel, you really wasted my time with that, I want that refund from netflix
