Hey Nikki & Stevw The name they discovered on Miyagis passport ( from the box) was how Miyagi was introduced at the intro of " The Next Karate Kid". He was being honored at a WWII ceremony and his Arny buddy was Julie Pierce( Hillary Swank) deceased grandfather.. The villians were absurd but honestly I found Julie Piercw fighting more impressive than both Daniel and Johnny in KK1. Swank is a natural athlete. It's no wonder Clint Eastwood cast her in Million Dollar Baby which she won both an Oscar & Golden Globe.

"Sekai Takai" is actual Japanese, it translates to World Tournament, it's not mumbojumbo
@matthewschafer63592 ай бұрын
A couple things that get me about this show are 1) how is Kreese flying all over the world when he's wanted by the police? 2) If no one in the US has ever heard of this big tournament then how will winning it make them famous and change anything for them? 3) Karate (Miyagi-Do) is Japanese but Cobrai Kai is Tang Soo Do which is Korean. However they all keep on saying Japanese terms. Cobra Kai and the Koreans wouldn't say "Dojo" they'd say "Dojang," they wouldn't use the word "Sensei," they'd say "Seonsaeng."
@Solar-td4fj2 ай бұрын
"1) how is Kreese flying all over the world when he's wanted by the police?" Kreese isn't some internationally wanted criminal. He is an old man that was sent to a minimum security prison (had the counselor signed off he could have been released already) for an assault which he didn't actually commit. His only actual crime is escaping said prison, but in the list of fugitives the police may want to track, I seriously doubt he'd be high up in priority, and certainly not high enough to request the Feds to track him if he tries to travel.
@matthewschafer63592 ай бұрын
@@Solar-td4fjHe's a fugitive who has committed assault, theft, and escaped from jail (I don't remember if he was in a county jail or an actual prison) so there would be a manhunt for him. Even though he is innocent of the initial crime against Stingray that out him in prison you're still held accountable for the crimes you commit in prison. And a councilor/therapist can't let you out of prison, the most they can do is assess your level if threat to the community and make a recommendation of your suitability to rejoin society to the prosecutor or parole board. An alert would be placed on his credit and ID that would alert the authorities if either were used so unless he had a very good fake ID and passport he would be arrested when he tried to board a plane for South Korea and there is no way he would have reentered the US and been processed through customs without being arrested. The only way he would be able to fly internationally without being arrested is to be smuggled out on one of Silver's private jets but even that us almost impossible. I think the writers are just going to ignore the fact that he's wanted but the only way for him to avoid being rearrested is if he moves to and lives the rest if his life in South Korea which is what will probably happen.
@Solar-td4fj2 ай бұрын
@@matthewschafer6359 As an inmate he could literally walk to the exit door without having to cross a single checkpoint or guard, and once out the door it was directly to the street, again without any more security afterwards. That's as minimum security as it gets. He complains to the counselor that she didn't sign off on the recommendation for early release within weeks of being detained. Which he thought was his way out at first. Prisoners don't get more low importance than that. Again, the only way for him to be flagged for travel/credit card/etc is for the local authorities to actually go through the process of informing State and Federal authorities, plus the corresponding financial/air companies. For a place like LA, I'm guessing he was not high on the list of people they'd want to spend time or resources as a priority, so yes, him being able to travel without being detected isn't really far fetched.
@matthewschafer63592 ай бұрын
@@Solar-td4fjTo be honest I almost don't know what to say because your argument is ridiculous. Regardless of how old you are or how close you are to being released you don't escape from jail/prison and have everyone say, "Oh well, I guess he's gone," and then not look for you. Escaping from prison is a crime, California Penal Code § 4532 states that escaping from custody can result in up to one year in county jail or one year and one day in state prison. If Kreese was charged with felony assault then 18 U.S. Code Chapter 35 would apply which states that he could be sentenced to up to five years in prison and fined. Upon discovering Kreese's escape the prison would lock down and do a head count, they'd notify local and state police who would start putting up roadblocks. He would be considered dangerous and possibly armed and police would interview other inmates, friends, and family for information about him and his plans, and after discovering from other inmates that he talked about the karate rivalry and going to Korea (because inmates always talk because they have nothing better to do) they would notify the US Marshals (if they hadn't already) and then he's done. You do not get to escape from jail or prison and they just let you go. You especially don't get to assault guards and prison staff and essentially karate your way out of prison and not get considered to be highly dangerous and a threat to the community. In reality there would be tracking dogs, road blocks, helicopters, people locking their doors, and the US Marshal Service coming down with the full weight and capability of federal government because that's what they do. I love Cobra Kai, but the idea that Kreese escaped jail/prison then flew out of the US to South Korea, then back into the US to California, and then out of the US to Spain is ridiculous, especially when authorities would know all about his plans and this tournament from interviewing Daniel and Johnny who would definitely have been interviewed about his escape and plans because they visited him in prison and their names would be in the visitor logs. I'm sure the writers will ignore all of this and Kreese will probably settle down in South Korea when this is over and escape justice, but its a bit silly.
@Solar-td4fj2 ай бұрын
@@matthewschafer6359 What on Earth makes you think he flew out of the US? A little drive south and he can fly out of Mexico , same way flying back. Getting out of the US by land involves zero checkups. Coming back isn't that much harder, because again, he is a small time criminal. When even actual internationally wanted Top 10 criminals can come and go with certain ease, a guy that few outside of LA would care can do so even more easily.
