He had training between the end of the movies and Cobra Kai so he would have years of training and actually earned his black belt properly. Johnny is still the better fighter since we see him able to fight Daniel even though Johnny didn’t train again ever since the ending of the 1st movie/start of the second movie. Johnny also beat Kreese multiple times while Kreese was fresh compared to Daniel who comes in only after Johnny beat Kreese (Robby stopped Johnny from ending the fight via knockout or death).

I would've loved it if the writers in part 1 made Johnny more balanced with Miyagi Do and Daniel getting shattered with Miyagi secrets. They should've made Daniel the more aggressive and rash one, especially towards his students, and have flashbacks of Silver telling him, theres always Cobra Kai inside of him. Johnny will be the one to get Larusso back to his senses. They can still have Daniel and Johnny conflict with each other but have them both on opposite ends to still show their growth of acknowledging their opposites sides in Seasons 4 and 5 instead of the current script that had them still acting almost the same as early Season 4 with Daniel being in Miyagi Do and Johnny on Eagle Fang. I wouldve loved to see Johnny be the calm and rational one and call out Daniel in being too aggressive and rash and leaning more towards Kreese and Silver's behaviors, especially towards the students and Daniel denying his own sudden change in behavior. I mean to think about it, finding out about Miyagis dark secret can make him feel "betrayed" and lean more towards the dark side of things

​@Racio00, I appreciate it. I'm just a guy watching, and no doubt I still enjoyed Part 1 of the season. I'm sure there are others with great ideas too. I just wish they went in the direction of Daniel confronting his inner Cobra Kai demons alongside Miyagi's dark past and Johnny trying to help Daniel overcome his demons and rebalance himself. Daniel may have defeated Silver physically but I wish they made it as if he couldn't let go of Silver mentally because of feeling "betrayed" by Miyagi's dark past. I would've loved to see Daniel use Cobra Kai/Eagle Fang and Johnny defending with Miyagi Do against each other

Johnny already shown that multiple times. Remember when Daniel went to Johnny all aggressively and called him a P**Sy for not wanting to get into the drama with Silver? Johnny was calm and collected and talked Daniel down. In season 6, Daniel hit Johnny who did not fight back but instead said he will help until the tournament but then they’re done with each other.

But that's just my "What If" idea, whether you like it or not. Just ignore it if you don't, simple. I'm not a fan fiction writer or a Cobra Kai writer. As I said, I still enjoyed what Part 1 brought us.

Barnes has nothing to do with Yung's legacy. Barnes was already established in Karate. Never trained in Yung's karate. You need to go watch Karate Kid 3 again. Terry found Barnes from a karate magazine.

They need to edit Part 2 and move the Sekai Taikai scenes to later Part 2, including the ending scene of Episode 5. And they need to move them to early Part 3 because the Sekai Taikai can’t be happening already. They still have to show some stuff before.

Johnny is the true heir to a mixture of both MiYagi's and Yung's legacies. Chozen is the other true heir to MiYagi's legacy. Barnes is the other true heir to Yung's legacy. Johnny and Barnes are both Cobra Kai Bad Boys; not bonsai badasses.

Well, considering Mr. Miyagi was introduced as Kesuke in *_The Next Karate Kid_* , it's possible that now is the point in this series when they're really gonna tie that film in. I believe we'll see the return of Hillary Swank this season, they're just taking a long build-up to it.🤔 My own theory is this: The guy who owns the boxing gym that Daniel went to, is Julie Pierce's cousin. When he talks about his Pop-Pop, that's also Julie's grandfather.
