Cobra Slip-On Installation on Yamaha Bolt

This video shows the installation of a Cobra slip-on muffler onto a Yamaha Bolt, with stock pipe removal, before and after sound. I'm not a professional and made some mistakes I'm addressing in order to prevent others from making the same.

Thanks for the video! I am contemplating between the Akrapovic slip on, the V&H full system and this Cobra slip on. This cobra slip on seem to hit the sweet spot with price and sound, plus I'm sure some weight savings and perhaps a bit of HP gain. Do you have a fuel commander for your bike? Thanks for the video, it is really helpful!

I got Ivan’s flash instead of a fuel commander. It does seem faster and smoother shifting. The sound of the cobra is amazing.

Get Ivan’s ecu flash, I have the same air intake & the flash really wakes up the bike. Don’t bother getting a fuel tuner, it’s a waste of money. Check out Ivan’s performance products for the Yamaha bolt flash. It’ll be the best thing you’d ever do to the bolt.

If I put this exhaust .. and keep the original air intake do I need a tuner? ECU? Flash? Or as long I just change the exhaust for the sound I should be ok?

No, if you don’t change the intake you don’t need a tuner. But I recommend changing the intake and getting Ivan’s tune. It makes a great difference!

great vid! was the cobra exhaust noticeably louder? its the exhaust Im thinking about getting, however, videos of it seem rather quite. whats ur opinion? thanks!

Yes, it's a lot louder. I love it! It's still not as loud as the straight exhausts, but it can now be heard inside a car with the radio on. My friend and I tested it.

Did you have to tune the bike after that exhumed because I see u also have an after air intake

think she did an ecu flash, but a tune is def recommended after the exhaust and air intake i believe

They’re off the bike. They hold the OG pipe at the rear end.

Hey are you able to tell me what size those round shorter bolts are? I bought this bike used and the guy gave me a cobra slip on with the bike, but not the mounting bolts to install it.

Does you bike have the stock exhaust now? The bolts are the ones that hold on the mounting bracket.
