You are the tutorial producer I wish I had 10 years ago, or even 10 months ago. The sprites you tend to use match my desired look exactly, you zoom in on stuff if it's small, you're thorough. I'm not the richest man but I'm going to support you because I know what it's like to put your heart and soul into something and not get the response you might need in order to justify the time and cost. I really enjoy your videos, you're an amazing teacher and your tutorials are incredibly informative and well made. One thing I would love to see and it's a subject I can't find anywhere, at least when it comes to side-scroller stuff is a way to rotate the character/camera along a spline or something. Think of games like Klonoa or Pandemonium or even, more recently, in Bloodstained (Tower of the Twin Dragons section as an example). I've always really enjoyed the effect of moving around in a curved 3D space with only left and right movement, or maybe adding curves to a stage, or something along those lines. I'd love to see you toy around with more camera stuff too in general.

Thank you so much! Yeah that's actually something I'm also interested in and want to look into! I'm not sure if you've seen my DK Bongo video, however it does use a similar system even though it's with a skeletal mesh. It's not quite using a spline, but there are platforms that if you step on them boost you into a different lane. Sadly, it looks like SvenThole's assets are no longer available on UE Marketplace, and only 3 left on itch and Unity Asset Store, I wonder what happened :/

What is the point when Epic has essentially abandoned Paper2D altogether and there are multiple strong alternatives that have significantly more mature support for 2D sprite based games? Have they recently announced they were working on it again?

With strong alternatives do you mean other game engines or plugins for unreal engine? If it's plugins then they are built on top of paper 2D and don't completely replace it, which is why you still need to learn the basics of paper 2d first. No they have not announced that they're working on it again and I don't think that's likely to happen. However they have been putting out some official tutorials recently and have been giving out epic mega grants to a lot of 2D games or plugin creators. Most notably Paper ZD got an epic mega grant when it became a free plugin and is a game changer for making 2D games in Unreal Engine. I don't think it's out of the question for them to eventually implement PaperZD as an official solution, since something similar has happened with the VR controller input system.

It would be great if you can provide information on some paper2d c++ documentation(or a tutorial itself) as the documentation is harder to find while most tutorials use blueprints!

Hey thanks for the suggestion. Doing C++ stuff in general and also in combination with paper 2D is on my todo list, however it's still very far in the future.
