I can't express the relief I felt when the power trucks showed up on my street today. Working all day cleaning debris in the Florida sun for 4 days without a shower is not at all pleasant. Lots more debris to get to, but at least I still have a home, and now, a shower. Thanks to all the linemen, and my deepest sympathies to those who lost everything.
@CobraEmergency11 күн бұрын
It's really humbling to see the linemen all over Florida. Glad you were able to get your power back and that you still have a home. Very sad to see some of the homes that were lost. And of course, the fuel struggles.

To be fair, the fire engine I think you're referencing was on the shoulder and coming to a stop for the first FedEx truck. They were off the road and it looked like they were pulling up on their call for service, I would have driven past also.

I think those two white transit vans right after the military vehicles in the first clip were also part of the response. I've seen them used in federal government contexts before, like in certain convoys & escorts. Also the fact that they're both very similar and appear to be driving very close to the convoy reenforce that.

One thing I’ve seen in all my disaster deployments is there are two types of people the ones that take advantage of the situation looting, robbery, general lawlessness then people who want to help there fellow man acts of kindness acts of hero’s hard work to bring a broken community back together some time the victims show me so much kindness that it is humbling! This is a great country and when the people pull together there is no disaster that can stop us!

As a country, we need to stop emergency flashing lights on vehicles that are doing nothing but driving down the road. Some random semi truck should not have white flashing lights for no reason.
@elmerhuyard356512 күн бұрын
@@bg1379 I agree, it is not allowed but does not get enforced. I can't tell you who's doing it it's mostly foreign truck drivers in the US and it became a thing mostly during covid

Unnecessary Using emergency flashing lights is a common practice in south Florida, mostly by center and South American immigrants, usually when is raining or in heavy traffic, this is illegal in Fl but police officers don’t enforce it.

I think the white an amber ones are okay, and I believe in some cases they have to if they're actively working. Usually required by their insurance policies. It's a long drive but they're doing it. Amber and white though is accepted to use like that in the US.
