@@jonas9883 they aren’t nearly as unsafe as you probably think, headline grabbers bc it’s a tilt-rotor.. tons of them fly hundreds if not thousands of hours every day.

I've worked on the mapping system of those. DDMS & DEU-II sound familiar?

Too many moving parts on this helicopter. The Osprey has a bad crash record. They should have upgraded to a newer version of what they already have.

The Osprey is NOT the new Marine One helicopter. It's the smaller ones that landed after - VH-92A

Cool! They were 2 years after first flight and still lots of bugs when I got out. Great to see they're reliable enough for HMX duty.

WOW!! Those Ospreys look very presidential!! More so than the real Marine One VH-92 Patriot (IMHO)

The Osprey is a staff plane, never a presidential plane. Work on your observation.

My old unit. HMX-1. We had CH-53E's and CH-46's when I was there. The MV-22's replaced both of those models.

The Osprey is a death trap. Dozens of Marines have died riding that thing.

Hundreds died during the early years of the Blackhawk only difference is now every v-22 crash is publicized because of international news and social media. From 1981 to 1987, five Black Hawks crashed (killing or injuring all on board).

Heli crashes are countless...rotor lift always much less safe than fixed wings..
@PeacefulRallyCar-pw3cs3 ай бұрын
Blackhawk does missions that the v22 cannot. It's safety record is due to flying in difficult situations. The v22 is a hanger queen that only flies cherry picked training exercises.

I always take a moment to wonder how the Founding Fathers or George Washington would react to seeing all of this today, 200+ years later.

They would be astounded we're still here. Washington said that he thought the Constitution would last about 30 yrs.
