F22 Raptors launch for Middle East and other fighter jets get busy for the day 🇺🇸 🇬🇧

Twelve F-22 Raptors of the US Air Force depart the UK for a deployment to the Middle East in response to trouble in the region. Two C17 Globemasters are also featured transporting equipment, and fighter jets based at RAF Lakenheath.
Twelve F-22 Raptor Advanced Tactical Fighters from Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska stopped at RAF Lakenheath on Tuesday, 6th August, before then departing on Thursday, 8th August. The air superiority fighter jets, built to be stealthy, are being deployed to the Middle East as part of the US government's response to rising tensions in the region. A Carrier Strike Group, an Amphibious Ready Group, other aircraft, and assets are also being deployed.
Hundreds of aviation enthusiasts and interested parties gathered at the RAF Lakenheath viewing area on the Suffolk/Norfolk border to watch the 5th generation fighter planes take off. The aircraft departed on Thursday morning. Various F15 Strike Eagles and F35 Lightning IIs based at RAF Lakenheath also departed for local training. The deployment of F22s is being supported by KC-46 Pegasus fuel tankers and C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft (seen at the end).

@@dpelpal I live in Virginia Beach, and they are all we hear throughout the day. Plus, I see Air Force One doing touch and go's at Newport News airport when I'm there. About 10 years ago a jet crashed into apartment building when he was on approach from a carrier. My apartment was facing that apartment building so when I got home from work, our street looked foreign. I love this country, and the jets are the sound of freedom but damn, in VA beach, it's constant and gets so annoying. I have been mad so many times because of jets being so loud. I also lived on an Island in the Chesapeake Bay called Gwynn's Island. The jets go north from Va beach and go up to the island and get really close to the beach and circle the island. It's cool to watch that but they stopped doing that when I was really young. It's crazy you have never seen a jet. I see them daily. I also see a lot of Subs coming in the Bay and carriers docked at Norfolk Naval base. It's cool seeing it from the sky from a commercial jet. So many subs, Battleships and Carriers. If we were ever invaded, this would be THE spot it all happens.

When I saw the landing video, I thought of these, but the take-off is even more fitting. A couple of scenes from Tombstone come to mind. The first" “You tell ’em I’m comin! And hell’s comin’ with me, you hear? HELL'S COMIN' WITH ME!” The second: “You called down the thunder. Well, now you got it.” Yikes, that many should send a chill down every spine of enemy and ally. I finally saw an F-35A demonstration at an air show and oh my god was that loud.(which I love). I loved hearing that fifth gen Afterburners power. Made me appreciate the aircraft more. I read that the F-35 engine is about 4 times louder than the f-16, which I imagine would make it about twice as loud as an f-15.

I remember when I was a 22 year old kid seeing the F-22 for the first time on tv in 1997 when it took it's maiden flight . I thought it looked like some futuristic fighter aircraft out of a sci-fi movie that some alien race built especially flying next to the F-16 chase aircraft. Even today it still looks that way to me next to other fighter aircraft and can't believe the Raptor is over 25 years old but wow is it a good looking fighter. Don't worry F-15 eagles you were and always will be my first love ! Much respect & love to my brothers and sisters across the pond take care and be safe.

Wow! It is nice to see our planes from JBER (Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson) landing there at RAF Lakenheath. JBER used to be Elmendorf Air Force Base but merged with Fort Richardson Army Base several years ago for cost cutting reasons like many others in other States. They are close together & are neighbors in military land. I am from Anchorage, Alaska. They are across the highway from us. We are used to listening to military jets & planes landing & flying.

@@Johnnysixpac F-22 and F-35 will be used like to direct missiles from other platforms that can't get close enough to guide weapons in themselves with a contested air space. The F-15's will basically carry and launch huge volumes of missiles from far away while the Stealth jets can then guide the weapons on a data link and not expose the F-15's or themselves.

The new F15x is a beast. Can hold it's own. When it enters the airspace....all the others run for cover. But yea....the F22...it ain't even fair. During war games, one F22 took out five F15s before they even knew what was happening. Just no fair ...and we're both lucky for it eh!

@@Johnnysixpac The most recent software for the Military is an entire ecosystem now, air/ground assets can scan, target, communicate and share data with each other so what the F-35's role is to sneak in and obtain targeting data undetected that it'll then share with the whole "fleet". F15s can carry a ton of missiles, so an F-35 or 22 can target something dozens if not hundreds of miles ahead and an F-15 can fire say one of the new long range missles completely at a safe distance, allows the F-35 to remain stealth during target engagements
