it could lead to the conservatives going after Coke because is to woke. This, since it's old does not trigger the same animosity, but I don't belive the corporation will want to risk it.

@@jaimeduncan6167 there is no point in paying too much attention to what American "conservatives" say. They do nothing in good faith and are entirely without integrity. Ordering your life so that you avoid their animosity is a waste of time. They hate everything and everyone; hate them back, and leave it at that.

I would sure like to actualize a society where people of diverse backgrounds can live in harmony. I grew up thinking that it was possible to achieve. In fact, I have lived in some communities and attended an undergraduate college program that achieved diversity and harmony. I'll pray for the day when we can see this all across America and other countries too.

I just watched a picture story about Woodstock 1969 on the internet and it was amazing. 500K people and not one fight or act of violence reported. I was 9 and have a sister who would have been 20 that still regrets it. She wanted to go but her boyfriend now her husband believe it or not played in a band and had a gig. Why are we more racist today than back then?

People today know that Coca Cola has used and abused the world market in so many ways. The last two generations have not fallen for the pseudo-inclusive marketing pitch. Coke is known for destroying the environment, having abusive labor practices--more. The ideal of the ad is beautiful, noble. We could do it if we tried. But right now we can't even agree to wear a mask to help each other. This ad was aspiring to something much more noble that that.

@Zulu Voodoo Jeez, dude....I'm not even criticizing a modern ad, I'm criticizing an ad from 1970. And it's a fair criticism. This isn't a depiction of America, it's a depiction of the **world**, and that's not what the world looks like...not then, and not today.
@logangantner38633 жыл бұрын
@Zulu Voodoo Now you go back, re-read my comment, and realize that nothing you said was inconsistent with my statement. I'll spell it out for you. Yes, the first 3(!) people focused on are all white. That's already...I mean, ok. The final person receiving exclusive focus and clear audio priority...is white. No one else in the video receives a zoom shot, so that's 4/4 for the white people in the shot. Now count the number of people that are panned over and in focus during the video. More than 50% are white. Again...I wouldn't care if this were a video about Americans drinking coke. That would be somewhat reasonable. But this is a portrayal of **the world**. You know...the world where more than 50% of the population comes from Asia?
