I don't think you can compare the two their both a master at their own art. James has a really nice voice & is a great writer for love songs & sex. The Weeknd is in a genre of his own & he has multiple flows & styles from songs like earned it, to loft music, wanna see (unreleased), John Carpenter, As I am, Thursday. The Weeknd also has a very high pitched alto vocal range, while James has a more smoothing lower pitched voice kind of like Sampha (another great, just without the scratchiness & accent. You can't compare them their both great along with artist like Miguel, Frank Ocean, Sampha, James Blake who all write their own material & have their unique style

The weeknd is nice, but I don't think he sings as well as James( singer of cocaine 80's) nor does he harmonize like him. Cocaine 80's play on words (poetic) and harmonies make them more desirable to me than the weeknd, plus cocaine 80's sounds more conscious.

Cocaine 80's usually make really deep music. How I see this is that she left him, and he, out of sorrow starts thinking. He starts questioning the entire relationship, and he's thinking if she at least felt slightly bad and misses him a little, at least a little.. 'The fall' might be a metaphor for a big fight in their relationship. Se he's thinking.. I knew we had a big fight.. But did your feeling really suddenly disappear? Did you even love me before?

Can someone tell me what their interpretation of this song is?
@yvanm79993 жыл бұрын
"Didnt know her Father, didnt know her way" who is her Father?? "she saw the edge there, she wasnt afraid" this means she intentionally "fell" after losing her way "She fell so beautifully, something like the rain" this line hints at who "she" is "on her way down she smiled and waved" this isnt a bad thing for her. she is happy about the fall because then she can reign over earth and have her own little mini kingdom trying to be like her Father. "Did i even break your heart at all?" again reinforcing the fact that for her, this isnt a punishment. shes unrepentant. rebellious. if that doesnt point out enough to you idk what will tbh

Why? Wouldn't you want great artists to recognition for being great artists. You're the reason why mainstream fucking sucks, because instead of wanting artists like these to change people's perceptions of what's good, you'd rather them be nameless.
