They came into prominence in Finland in 2003, when Max Payne 2 was released and their song Late Goodbye was in that game. Many PC gamers became instant fans and I also had their first album, Signs of Life. However, I soon forgot about them and while I heard some songs from The Carnival of Rust, I even thought, for many years, they had quit the music industry. It kind of surprised me when I found out two or three years ago that they seem to be quite popular in Central and Eastern Europe. But yeah, they are a great band and I guess they kind of lost their chance when they somehow lost their prominence in Finland.

What an incredible piece of artistic work, I´ve never commented on a song before but this was too good not to. At first I listened to it and thought "I just really like the sound of it and the feeling of rising above difficulties that seems to come out of the chorus". Then as i watched the video a couple of times all sorts of symbolism began to break through. So here´s my take on it and what it means (to me at least); the prison is our society and all the constraints, restrictions and regulations that it imposes upon us. The parole board and guards may be people around us who expect us to conform to the constraints and regulations or to fit into a mold, this is obviously different for everyone but examples might be; an employer, parents, spouse, our children, or even a government/social system etc etc. The moth represents freedom, creativity, following a dream. The room full of moths represents most peoples dreams, pinned down and forgotten. His moth flies freely even though his body may be incarcerated, I think this is especially beautiful because even though most of us may be caught up in a "normal" life and have to pay bills, work etc etc it doesn´t stop us from dreaming and and being creative, we just have to find what it is in this world that gives us that lift! The mundane is described as " move in circles day to day, twist the drama of the play to get us by", a constant repetition. I believe that that the woman (whose picture was used as an article of evidence ) was the one who gave the author his lift and what he needed to rise above the mundane. For each person it may be different but it´s unimportant what it is, just as long as it IS there, it could be travel, a love,or whatever, but we all need to find our own "lift" and never let the mundane or expectations placed upon us by others hold us back from being happy and living to our full potential . Whatever it is that will " lift my spirit take me higher make me fly touch the moon up in the sky when you are mine" then it is that which we must pursue with all our heart and mind. The most profound moment in the video of course is when freedom and creativity and the following of our dreams are deemed to be a "menace to society" as adjudged by the parole board :) Perhaps the woman and guard losing their temper is how people around us react when we tell them "actually I am not going to be what you want me to be, instead I have dreams of my own that I´m going to follow". This is my interpretation and what it means to me, feel free to differ. I´m sure I´ve missed lots of other symbolism but that´s what the song spoke to me.

Amazing band! Attended their concert in 2013 and I still impressed. A lot of lovely memories... But say me: why do you worry about their "underration" and less-then-100 mil views? Their music is great because it`s not so popular and it doesn`t play from every corner. Guys get their own money and they are pretty rich i think. Meanwhile their music remains clean and high-quality. So why should I worry about views?..

Now as grown ups, we don't talk anymore because of work, everybody is tired, nobody enjoys life anymore. Life has become work and home everyday. Nobody wants to hang out with me anymore, I'm too depressed. I tried su1cide twice yesterday. But music is one of the only things that makes me feel alive and keeps me alive. And this song is just so magical, so special to me. I'm glad I found this song again before it was too late.

If you happen to be listening on good headphones see if you can hear the way when he sings 'disappear' leaps to the right and far back almost behind you- like it's disappearing. Just now caught that. Cool little detail.

2019 and I STILL keep this song on repeat when I'm driving or at work. POTF is still one of my all-time favourite bands! Marko's singing always lifts my spirits, takes me higher, makes me fly...

This is some of the most amazing music I have ever listened to. I have listened to a lot of their songs that are on youtube and I love every one of them. It is hard for me to find a band that I can enjoy every song. Definitely fast becoming my favorite by far!!!

That was really beautiful and disturbing. This music, and these lyrics, and those videos - all of these create an atmosphere of a dream. Of a beatiful colourful nightmare, which looks like a fairy-tale till the very last moment, when it's already too late to run. Actually, I don't even want to. It's so hypnotizing.

i just got into the daze of POTF ..yes 13 years after their .. among all those breathtaking songs.. this one just _with this rhythm and that smooth flowing voice _ and i am usually not drawn to voices as much as to the uniqueness of the music _ place me in this liberating atmosphere .. a whole new state of mind of embracing every emotion storming through me .. love will come to you ..psychosis , roses. ultimate fling .. diamonds for tears ,heel my wounds .war. illusion and dream, carnival of rust etc ..etc.etc ettttc just so beautiful :')

This is probably the fastest a band has grown on me. Pretty much all of their songs that I've listened to are beautifully sombre yet very uplifting. It's a delightfully contradictory feeling that only truly masterful musicians can create, absolutely incredible.

Times when I just can't Bring myself to say it loud 'Fraid that what I'll say comes out somehow awry That is when it seems We move in circles day to day Twist the drama of the play to get us by And it feels like fear Like I'll disappear Gets so hard to steer Yet I go on Do we need debate When it seems too late Like I bleed but wait Like nothing's wrong You lift my spirit, take me higher, make me fly, Touch the moon up in the sky, when you are mine You lift me higher, take my spirit, make it fly, Where all new wonders will appear Like the other day I thought you won't be coming back I came to realize my lackluster dreams And among the schemes And all the tricks we try to play Only dreams will hold their sway and defy When it feels like fear... Like I'll disappear Gets so hard to steer Yet I go on Do we need debate When it seems too late Like I bleed but wait Like nothing's wrong You lift my spirit, take me higher, make me fly, Touch the moon up in the sky, when you are mine You lift me higher, take my spirit, make it fly, Where all new wonders will appear, oooohhhh You lift my spirit, take me higher, make me fly, Touch the moon up in the sky, when you are mine You lift me higher, take my spirit, make it fly, Where all new wonders will appear Take me high Make me fly

Two good things came of buying Alan Wake. Number 1, the game was epic, and I'm ready for a legit sequel. Number 2, I was introduced to an amazing band that's captivated me with every song. Excellent work, Poets! (I'd much rather study this kind of poet in Lit class lol)

That is perhaps the best use of a Madagascar hissing cockroach, and a moth in a video like this that I have ever seen. Also this song is one of my favorites, I use the "You lift my spirit, take me higher, make me fly" part for my ringtone for my wife.
