MadTV is something we need today; a comedy show that pushes boundaries, and helps us laugh together about things that we think are ridiculous but maybe afraid to say how ludicrous they are in daily life. The slapstick nature of the show for me was a spiritual successors to "In Living Color" in that they pushed the limits and were always on the edge of comedy.

In Living Color and MADtv were a thousand times better than SNL.
@FIXTREMEАй бұрын
Half of that statement is correct. For the life of me, idk why In Living Color is considered funny.
@C-Lyfe85Ай бұрын
@@FIXTREME Here we go. In Living Color was literally the blueprint to the Mad TV. In Living Color was on the Fox network, later was Mad TV. In Living Color theme song was done by Heavy D, later was mad tv. Mad TV literally stole some skits from In Living Color. Mad TV employed the same writers from In Living Color. Understandably, if you weren't from a certain culture, you didn't understand certain jokes from In Living Color. But don't try to discredit that show, you'd be wrong.
@FIXTREMEАй бұрын
@@C-Lyfe85 I don't agree with that. I give more credit to Fridays. If we're going to edit comments, I recognise that lot's of stuff were carried over. But stylistically, I still see Fridays when looking at MadTV.
@FIXTREMEАй бұрын
@@C-Lyfe85 It has nothing to do with a certain culture, In Living Color just came off as mean spirited and wacky half the time. Half the show hasn't aged well.
@C-Lyfe85Ай бұрын
@@FIXTREME Fridays, really? You had to REACH that far, & reference some obscure comedy skit show? Fridays wasn't even on the air long enough for a cup of coffee. Most comedy sketch shows are wacky, hence it being a comedy. As far as it being mean-spirited, either you're a sensitive snowflake or you're not. Lastly, of course it did not age well, it started in 1990! Had it been allowed to have 300 seasons worth of episodes, like SNL, then it'd be a different story. In living color brought us Damon Wayans,Tommy Davis Jr, David Alan Grier, Jennifer Lopez, Jim Carrey, he's the biggest success story. How many superstars did Mad TV turn out, don't worry I'll wait.
