MadTV is something we need today; a comedy show that pushes boundaries, and helps us laugh together about things that we think are ridiculous but maybe afraid to say how ludicrous they are in daily life. The slapstick nature of the show for me was a spiritual successors to "In Living Color" in that they pushed the limits and were always on the edge of comedy.

@@FIXTREME Here we go. In Living Color was literally the blueprint to the Mad TV. In Living Color was on the Fox network, later was Mad TV. In Living Color theme song was done by Heavy D, later was mad tv. Mad TV literally stole some skits from In Living Color. Mad TV employed the same writers from In Living Color. Understandably, if you weren't from a certain culture, you didn't understand certain jokes from In Living Color. But don't try to discredit that show, you'd be wrong.

@C-Lyfe85
@C-Lyfe85 4 ай бұрын
@@FIXTREME Fridays, really? You had to REACH that far, & reference some obscure comedy skit show? Fridays wasn't even on the air long enough for a cup of coffee. Most comedy sketch shows are wacky, hence it being a comedy. As far as it being mean-spirited, either you're a sensitive snowflake or you're not. Lastly, of course it did not age well, it started in 1990! Had it been allowed to have 300 seasons worth of episodes, like SNL, then it'd be a different story. In living color brought us Damon Wayans,Tommy Davis Jr, David Alan Grier, Jennifer Lopez, Jim Carrey, he's the biggest success story. How many superstars did Mad TV turn out, don't worry I'll wait.

I never watched MADtv or saw a magazine in person but the MAD show on cartoon network was fire. I miss spy vs spy.

I became a fan of this show because of Phil Lamar as he was the voice of Vamp in Metal Gear Solid 2!

*I WANT... A RABBIT :|* I remember the absolute pearl clutching and outrage at that skit. Like that seriously dinged MAD TV's reputation and there was even a little op-ed in TV Guide bemoaning 'how unfunny and cruel it was'. But I thought it was probably one of the funniest moments on television. This is also why I could or should never be a writer for a comedy show.
