Cockatiel Baby Growth Stages 1 to 9 weeks | New Born Baby Cockatiels | Chicks to Adults | Taming Baby Cockatiels | Shabu's Vlog
This video shows a growth stages of cockatiel chicks to adult stage. Cockateil egg hatching to adult cockatiel bird. Watch the 3 minutes video if you are a cockatiel lover. In the video you can see how the parent cockatiels mouth feeds the chicks and how to hand feed cockateil chicks. During the chick stage you can easily tame the cockatiel babies. Hand feeding creates a special bond between the bird and you. Since you are gaining the bird's trust, it is very easy to tame them. You can see in the video how we can tame a baby Cockatiel in step by step stages.
Day 1
Chick doesn’t do much. It can’t hold it’s head up. Not a very strong feeding response. Down moist.
Day 2
Has figured out where the food comes from. Stronger response. Can sit and hold head up fairly well. Down dry and fluffy.
Day 3
Eyes may just begin to open.
Day 4
Eyes opening.
Day 5
Eyes opening.
Day 6
Feather tracts should be getting more apparent. Chick begins to do defense display (hissing and swaying) when woken up or when the container is moved.
Day 7
Band baby. Feather tracts beginning to bud with tiny pinfeathers
Week 2 (Days 8 - 14)
Pinfeathers grow in. Chicks get better balance, start stretching, standing up and flapping their wings.
Week 3 (Days 15 - 21)
Pinfeathers open, tail and primaries (flight feathers) first. Chicks flap their wings and preen a lot. They also begin picking at things around them (you may want to start providing food items to play with now).
Week 4 (Days 22 - 28)
Weaning is well on its way. Chicks will begin flying all over the place. It’s usually good to wait until they have fairly good control at flying before clipping the wings.

Hi, I need some help. My baby cockatiel turned a month old on the 6th, but I think his growth was stuned early on. Hi.. Nothing to worry about.😊 You can continue handfeeding upto 7 to 8 weeks. Keep a regular gap between the feeds. 11 to 15 cc is very much ok for the chicks of age which you have mentioned. You can feed it 3 times a day & gradually reduce it to 2 times and introduce it to veg chops, cooked brown rice or corn, coriander leaves etc & keep small quanities of seeds or pellets and don't forget to keep water too..

If the cockatiel pair is mating and active then most of the eggs will be fertile only. Another method is "candling". Gently pick up one of the eggs and hold it up to the light, without looking directly at the light. Hold the larger end of the egg against the light, turning it slowly. Look inside the egg to observe the embryo inside. Be sure not to hold the egg against the light too long as you don't want the embryo to get too hot.

Try to handfeed till 8th week and you can introduce seed, millet, broccoli, carrots etc from 7th week. Don't give them avocado, cherries and peaches and make sure to deseed the apple before feeding them. You can feed coriander leaves to. Start with a very small quantity

Sorry for the late reply. Just to clarify does it have a pair? If not better to remove it after 1 week. If it has a pair it should sit on the egg. Normally it happens during the first set of eggs. Don't worry If 1 egg is lost, broken or removed, a cockatiel will just replace it by laying another egg. If you remove the eggs, your bird will go right into another breeding cycle and start laying more eggs.

❤😊 After eating, the crop feels slightly swollen and firm, but will shrink as food is digested. Food can remain inside the crop for up to twelve hours. you can check the cokatiel feed chart in google and feed them accordingly. Chicks are having a tendancy to beg for more food.. So please make sure not to overfeed them..

Sorry for the late reply.. Try to clean them right after feeding. I use soft wet cloth and after that i wipe with soft towel or tissues too. Always keep them warm during the chick stage 💕

My cocktail laid 8 egss Last two eggs she laid in the gap of 11 days after the sixth one.. Out of total 8 eggs 3 are fertile Red blood solutions and veins are visible in torch light..

4 weeks is too young. Better to purchase after 8 weeks. You can guess the gender only after molting. I have posted Gender Identification videos of main mutations and normal grey cockatiels. In that you can see how to identify gender by behavior and activities

😊No Rose, You don't have to give them water when they are in handfeeding stage. We are already mixing water in the feed. Once they are 6 to 8 weeks old you can keep water and they will drink that gradually by themselves. Same in the case of flying. They will do it on their own 👍😊

You can slowly introduce the bird to veggies and seeds. Make chops of broccoli, coriander leaves, apples and keep it in a bowl. You said her feathers are fully grown right? Give seeds too.
