I enjoyed the video Mark, and good to see some great vintage craft brave the windy conditions, with some faring better than others.

...from an era where the build construction methods went across the board from large aircraft to models, 20th Century was humankinds finest.

Glad you enjoyed it Terry, it is certainly an amazing day, not the best flying site, the models are excellent, pleased to hear you have been, I am certainly hoping to be back for more.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful video! I would love the visit one day to see these models in person. Not too many vintage flyers around here ( Connecticut)

I really enjoyed watching this well put-together video Mark. Trouble is, watching this, and your latest build projects, I'm getting the bug for building an old timer now. Diesel powered Super 60 I reckon. Don't want to go back to all that glow paraphernalia but model in one hand and tin of fuel in the other takes me back 60 years!

Glad you enjoyed it, there is something so nice about the vintage stuff, a diesel Super 60 wpuld be excellent, go for it! 😀

Ive got a Playboy Senior and a Sig Kadet MK1 both electric, theres a bit of lack of engine noise for the full experience but they fly great and get a lot of attention when I take them out

Got to hand it to previous generations of this hobby. The challenges to overcome were a mile high, yet they still achieved mastery and elegance. It's inspiring. I'm taking up my first balsa/glow project this winter..."not because it is easy, but because it is hard."

Yes for someone who has never done it, compared to 4 screws and plugging some wires...

Thanks for the comment, it's appreciated, you say mastery and elegance, totally agree it is inspiring to watch some of these lovely old vintage models, love these old designs. Good luck with your balsa project, hope it goes well, enjoy 😀

Thank you for sharing Mark! In rural NSW, Australia we had a wonderful weekend also 26-27 August for the Oily Hand Weekend 2023, with a focus upon vintage diesel F/F, C/L and 2 channel radio models. We were blessed with perfect sunshine and calm air 😊

Wow, what you describe sound excellent, for us living on a small island there is always the prospect of wind! Thanks for the comment 😀

Mark, I am glad that you have produced such a nice Cocklebarrow video, i have been looking for recent updates. I live in New Zealand and enjoy the Englishness and serene location this event is held in. It certainly has some challenges, gusty wind, long grass and trees plus those rock walls. The predecessor also has many videos from this location and I watch them over so i am glad you are capturing the allure of vintage aeromodelling. Thank you.

Thanks for sharing this experience with us Mark, great video ! Need to finish my 84 inch Berkeley Buccaneer with a Saito FA50 and get it in the air. I live in the desert southwest in the USA, would love to fly at Cocklebarrow one day. Until then, I will have to live vicariously though gentlemen like you. Thanks again Mark !

Pity you haven’t put a caption as each plane takes of giving the make and model. Which one(s) are Ben Buckle Super Sixty’s??
