Michael, you are exactly right. In critical phases of flight (e.g. take off and landing), the ignition is ON. In case of a flame out, this should re-light the engine instantaneously. Same goes for flights in icing conditions, strong turbulence and heavy rain. Happy Landings, Guido

Guido, One last question, when you capture audio are you recording the audio directly into your camera or are you using an independent audio recorder and syncing the audio in post process? I have recently started my PPL and am documenting every flight with audio. I'm trying to get my equipment setup working, but I have been running into a couple of snags with my setup. Thanks for the reply! Cheers, -Alex

Good pilot Chris! As normally the right seat pilot pilot works the radios (in these small jets), we use the no 2 stack (rights) in order to that the right seat pilot does not need to reach over. I see myself, however, using the no 2 stack as well if I am flying alone.... Just a habit, I guess... I we use main DC electric power and switch to "emer" bus, we have only the no (left stack) available. Interesting question, thanks, Chris. Happy Landings, Guido

We have pickes up passengers at HPN. The direct distance is 20NM, the actual flight distance with take off and landing may be 40NM. We burn at least 50 gallons on this trip, sometimes even more, when the weather is bad and we have to fly IFR procedures. Thanks for watching my videos and happy landings, Guido

The Citation V is not certified single pilot. I have however a single pilot exemption (requires a special simulator training every 12 month). The automation of this aircraft is not as good as in modern aircraft and the workload can be high. Max take off weight 16,200lb. Thanks for watching my videos and happy landings, Guido

Hi Ron, we thought about this but the iPad is quit big and blocks the view to other instruments. This is mat be the only downside of the iPad use: I don't really know where to put it. In a 2 crew cockpit it's ok, one flies, the other pilot has the iPad open. Happy Landings, Guido

Hi Ron, the ailerons and rudders are connected in this aircraft to counter-act adverse yaw (google this term). Less rudder in turns is needed. When taxiing with the rudders on the ground this then moves the ailerons. The system is designed to work in flight though. Happy Landings, Guido

Patrick, we are approved for RNAV ops (STAR's and SID's and GPS approaches) and have a GNX FMS/FMC installed. It is not in view of the camera. A basic system, but works quite well. Thanks for watching my videos. More are in the works. Happy landings, Guido

Thanks Jacob. I use an adapter and pug into the headset socket. So what I hear in the headset is also fed into the camera. The downside is that outside that outside noises cannot be heard. Thanks for watching my videos, more to come. Happy Landings, Guido

Thank you Vikram. The steering on the ground is conventional with the rudder pedals. Ailerons and rudders are connected with a cable and a spring, so in a turn during flight, the rudder moves automatically with the ailerons. Happy Landings, Guido

One thing that drives me nuts is when I call for flaps up and right seat says 400 feet ..Or V2 +10.. Just say flaps coming up . My call out is is Positive rate. Gear up. Lights out. Yaw damp. Hand on flaps. Flaps up.

@GuidoWarnecke 9 жыл бұрын
+Greg Estrada You have a good point here Greg. CRM means also to hear things we don't like to hear. Early flap retraction, speeds over the limit etc. Than it;s the right and the job of the other pilot to speak up. Happy Landings, Guido

Guido, just want to thank You for your videos.. today I did fly C210 from Norway to Ukraine through really bad weather. And all the way I’ve been trying to be as cold and calm as you (although you told that nothing to worry about - I know it’s not a 100% truth;) and this helps me a lot!! Now I’ve got another 2 cent in my experience-box.. may I ask you about “rule #1” for ferry pilots about “waiting skills” - you do think it’s #1? Thank You once again.. Sergey

I train out of Peachtree. Love that airport, always a lot going on. Your videos honestly help with the CRM, when I am flying solo out of there. If you are flying IFR in N365EA (Or another corporate aircraft), if i am down there flying, maybe ill see if i can get a few spotting pictures. I would say that I would say hey over the radio, but you would most likely not know who it was talking to you. Any chance of a landing video in PDK? Haha Thanks, Patrick

I need my memory jogged please, on the approach checklist you call for ignitions ON, is this to "prevent" flameout or to assist in-flight restart? I see it in all your videos on board 365EA. I seemed to have forgotten why. Thank you again, for the informative videos Guido... Calm Skies & Safe Landings Captain.

nice video. great cam angle and very clear and crisp audio. Is that plane steering itself while taxiing or are your feet doing the steering? You guys have systems in that cockpit that I don't get to see in a helicopter. Noob PPL myself so never done any IFR flight.

Thank you Andrew! The rudders and the ailerons are connected with a spring loaded cable. This makes it easier to do coordinated turns in flight without the need to use the rudder. On the ground, we steer the nose wheel with the rudder, so anytime the rudder moves, also the flight yokes move. Happy Landings, Guido

@GuidoWarnecke
@GuidoWarnecke 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you - mille granzie Alessandro. In small airplanes it is advisable to have the hands on the yoke while taxiing, especially if wind is present. Also while taxiing on grass or uneven ground it is a good idea to pull back on the yoke to get the weight off the nose wheel. Not required in larger and heavier aircraft. Happy Landings, Capt. Guido
