@@orsonwelles5549 and `beautiful landing ` refers to the last a few feet / touchdown, you can not land at 500 feet so it was a manual landing :)

A lot of pilots do choose to do a manual landing however there are some there are some times where the pilots will allow the autopilot to land, for example when the visibility is very low

The autopilot is only as good and useful as the people who are using it. So both the autopilot, but specifically the pilots deserve credit.

They have programmed the autopilot for the entire flight including any holding pattern they may have to fly before landing. It is the most fuel efficient way to operate the aircraft. the Crew then monitor the fuel and all the systems throughout the flight and it makes it safer to carry out all the checklists before landing. The Pilot flying will manually land the Aircraft as they can best handle any crosswinds etc
