Glad you're back! I love Japan, and I can't express how happy I am to be able to watch a beautiful Boeing landing in Japan! This is awesome, thanks so much High Pressure! :)
What a beautiful airport. I flew as a passenger from Toronto to Narita outside of Tokyo in the late 1970’s. There was a typhoon, I recall-not much else. After binge-watching airline accident videos, I am amazed at the size and length of the runways and taxiways. The directional lighting in abundance helping to double-confirm the exact route for the pilots. And look at the well-lit hanger it finally arrives at. One great video!

I work at an airport and interact with many pilots on a daily basis. Believe me, not all of them are brimming with enthusiasm with the mundane details of the job. But I would say that about 70% of the pilots do genuinely love the job.

@thinkdifferent64036 жыл бұрын
@frenchy946 жыл бұрын
**〈〈think different〉〉** attendons la réponse officielle.
@gregoryyp6 жыл бұрын
@frenchy946 жыл бұрын
@gregoryyp6 жыл бұрын

Beautiful approach and landing. The calm and poised attitude of the pilots is impressive. Just wondering: Why cut-off the left engine at 14:23? Did the pilot really need to do that? Or is it a requirement to do that? If not, why purposely turning off the engine? Does this not reduce the aircraft's capability? Granted, the aircraft is on the ground, but still.. Next thing, at 14:45, Tower is instructing to "expedite taxi accross 34L" because of approaching aircraft 3 miles out. You can hear the pilot say in French "Expedite? On one engine, we do what we can..."
@KevinBYee2 жыл бұрын
Saving fuel. At least from my experience on the ramp, many 737 pilots will try and taxi with only one engine running to save fuel (unless they are in a hurry). I assume that is the same for any commercial jet.
