The more I watch your videos, the more I respect you, Mr. Wilborn. I'll definitely commission someday.

Holy sh*t, what a lovely sounding power house of a guitar. Beautiful, too. Well done, Ben.

Sounds amazing!! You’re definitely making some of the most incredible guitars out there! I don’t know that I will ever be in a position to own a Nautilus. I have a beautiful guitar (Furch Yellow Master’s Choice Gc-CR) which has been a singer-songwriter’s dream guitar for me. But those Nautilus guitars are mind blowing! My only hope is that your guitars end up in the hands of players/singer-songwriters that will appreciate playing such an incredible instrument and not someone who just has money who will just display it as a status piece.

Hi Ben, sounds amazing and your statements about how different the guitars sounds depending on the design of the souddhole is very enlightning! Great explaination and hey - you are great player too. Maybe that is a big point why you gutiars sound so wunderbar! It need a vision of sound to creat great music, that is true for a composer and true for a luthier, I guess!

I have a recently purchased baroque flute made of cocobolo. It's indeed a beautiful wood, both visually and in its ability to withstand the moisture inherent with woodwind playing. The sound can be stunning when playing baroque music. Unfortunately, cocobolo is notorious for contact dermatitis allergies in about 25% of sampled populations, including musicians and wood workers. Does the varnish covering of the cocobolo wood of your guitar protect your skin from direct and prolonged contact with this wood? After some six months of playing it, I've developed a skin allergy where my hands and lips have prolonged contact with the instrument. I've placed a thin adhesive membrane along the lower half of the embouchure hole to protect my lower lip when playing, and am buying some open finger tipped typing gloves to try to protect my hands from excessive direct contact with the wood.

First encounter to your channel and instrument. Love your style and gentle tonality. Does the Nautilus take longer to make than a traditional center soundhole guitar? Guitar is no slouch either....:) Subscribed.

Dang Ben, this guitar is a monster. Have you given any thought to executing an octave mandolin or mandocello on the Comma platform?

I've been in the middle of a move so I haven't played my guitar in 2 weeks nor have I watched any KZbin videos on guitars. So when I saw this new Nautilus I was blown away. I still haven't decided on the tone woods for my Wilborn and Cocobolo wasn't even in the mix but now I'm reconsidering my build. African Blackwood, Ziricote or Cocobolo for back and sides. Tunnel 14, Redwood or Sitka for the top. Can anyone with a Nautilus kindly chime in and give me some direction? Thanks!

What is your performance background? You are obviously a very talented player and just wondering if you honed such a sensitive bond with the instrument in a live setting.

Stunning instrument, both sound and visually! Very interesting air volume/sound port discussion. I think opera singers understand this better than guitar players :>. Do you think that will change your body dimensions on your smaller guitars? And I give another vote for an octave mandolin!

Ben im no builder or luthier and hopefully soon ill build my own guitar and this past years i start researching about guitar to build my own spec i really like your soundhole design by the wayI'll suggest you checkout manzzer wedge its basically about the depth of the body this design is basically shallower on the bass side and deeper on the treble side i thinks it a really good design
