Coconut chicken hotpot is one of the most popular dishes in Shenzhen. It was great to be able to try it out and get my fill of food with my girlfriend.

I just had claypot rice with chicken and dark soy sauce. Have to say looks better than yours lol, love the slightly burnt flavor. Your street food looks yummier than restaurant!

What we do with the left over soup with the hot pot is get some chives, some diced carrots, two bowls of cooked white rice and dump it into the soup, the rice will soak up all the flavours from the soup and you have a bowl of very tasty congee to finish off your dinner

Yeah, that’s generally how Southern China’s food is compared to places like Beijing. It was a nice experience, and I really like the clay pot rice! 😆😆😆

Shenzhen is in southern China it's in the Cantonese province so the flavor profile tends to be more blander and focus on the fresh flavors of food rather than spicy like Sichuanese food or Hunanese food
