@@PolyveganKitchen I actually did try it. I found taro leaf at a Safeway store on Hilo Hawaii. I tell you what it was so good when it was done. I live on the Big Island and .y wife has a good friend who is Tongan and she made palisade for me once and I was hooked. I make it when I can get the Taro leaf. Aloha

It would be better if you tell us how long to cook it for? and what’s the temperature if I’m baking it in a conventional oven. And how many taro leaves I need to use and how many foil I need to use?
@BillieBeazley10 ай бұрын
30-45mins 180°C Should be long enough to make the veges soft.

This loooks sooo goooood 🤤 if we don’t have access to Big Franks, can we just use tofu or other vegan sausages brand and mince it? Not sure if the Big Franks would taste better than using another meat replacement 🤔 thank you so much for sharing!
@PolyveganKitchen3 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes it's fine to use other vegan meat substitutes. You can slice or cube another type of sausage, if not minced. I wouldn't use Tofu, as it's quite bland. Unless you marinade it some how? lol Let us know how it goes! Thank you for stopping by. :)

@@PolyveganKitchen 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 most definitely will update you on how it goes! Aaaah I’m so excited! My husband (non-Polynesian) he’s been eager to try some Polynesian food but veganized, so glad I found your page that way I can start making Poly vegan grindz for him to enjoy a taste into my culture 💓💕🙌🏽

I forgot to ask 😫 how long do you cook it? I currently only have a oven and no steam pot, just realized I bought all my ingredients but didn’t know how long to cook for 🤦🏽♀️ #myfirsttimewithoutusingaUmu

@@faatasigamatau9362 hiiiii sorry for the late reply. So cooking time really depends on different things. The main thing is how much moisture is in the lu. I like plenty of coconut milk so there’s plenty of moisture so there’s very little chance of the lu drying out quickly in the oven. If you have enough coconut cream in your lu, you should be able to cook it in no more than an hour @350. But it all depends...just eyeball it. You should be able to tell after an hour but I’d check at a 40min mark to see how much longer.

@@PolyveganKitchen I can't imagine how annoying they must be to their families when they go around family functions.

Preparation is key! When attending family functions we always take food or else we ain’t eatin! Most times non vegan/vegetarian family also enjoy the yummy plant based dishes, too.
