What a delightful video! Your dad reminds me of my dad. I would watch my dad making everything in the back patio because the kitchen was too "small" compared to cooking outside. Back then there were no apa pe'epe'e. Every Samoan house, and I grew up in Hawaii and California, had the essentials: a pelu, losa'alo, and a ulo you could fit a puppy in. Very simple ingredients for our classic. And your dad makes his the exact same way I saw my dad do it, no measurements except your eyes, hands and valuable experience of a lifetime of love. Thank you for sharing! I've been wanting make this for the first time. Now I gotta find out where I can get some good leaves 😣

Hello. Oh man it looks so good. I’m local born Hawaii (Filipino, Taiwanese, Spanish). My family was invited to A Samoan & Filipino/Hawaiian wedding party… the food was delicious. It was my first time trying Palusami. So delicious. Thank you for sharing!!!

uce, i found out from my dad, you can sub in spinach for taro leaves. you cant make palusami with it, but you know how to make lupu, it works great. My parents live in the mainland now, so thats one they got around it. Hope this helps,

@@TheBiggz808 uce, I ate a whole 2.5lb bag of spinach from Costco trying to make palusami out of spinach haha. End result was lupulu w/o the corned beef. I didn't realize how resilient taro plants are, and people do grow them in Dallas so ima just grow me a couple of plants, and make my own ish nadda mean.
