Tia, we could never tire of your wash and go videos! lol This is beautiful and I am surprised you used very little gel. Your Valentine styles were awesome as well. Loved the different looks. Teri LeFlesh was one of the first people that inspired me to go natural. Her hair is gorgeous and like you, the routine is simple.

mjgarner123 Awe, thank you so much! Yes, only a little gel on my edges. I really appreciate your feedback... I enjoyed creating the V-Day looks. Wow... I never heard of Teri LeFlesh until a while after I big chopped. I was looking for ways to get my hair to behave and not look like a big tried out frizzy poof. I wanted my curls to look just as goods they did when wet. I tried every product that you could think of. Lol! When I found out about her method and tried it for the first time I was hooked and completely changed my wash n' go regimen as you can see. It has been working wonders and I'm still faithful to it! Who knew it would take a "method" rather than a product? #genious Thank you again for watching my videos; I really appreciate it! Talk to you soon. :)

Now that I've seen this second video and your results, I'm definite,y trying this method toDAY. Maybe I can now finally let go of my gel addiction. Thank you! This was very clear and informative.

+Tia Kirby Well...I kind of modified it, ha! Just a little. I used almond oil instead of coconut. I did make a bottle of water, conditioner and almond oil. Love it. Then I used my usual leave in, KC Knot Today. I switched from Tresemme because, and this is weird, it's impossible to find here! I'd have to order it online, and who has time for that? I then used some Shea Butter curling cream (I don't have Creme Brûlée yet) and then my usual KCCC gel, but MUCH less than usual. I just can't deal with the stiffness of Ecostyler. Okay, now here is where you've really changed my life: I did the Tightly Curly Method on my curls. My hair clumps naturally, so I t didn't take very long, but I've never smoothed each one before! Can I just say WOW!?! My hair came out SO great. Shiny, defined, BOUNCY and so soft! I'm floored by the results! Just floored. Next time, I may try foregoing the gel and see what happens. Thank you so much for these tips! My hair is so happy.

I'm so glad to find another natural who uses conditioner as a staple leave in. My curls popped and thrived when I used nothing but conditioner and olive oil on my wash n goes. For some reason, creams and leave in conditioners do nothing for my curly hair. I altered the method to aid with my shrinkage and tight curl pattern, but I will revisit it 😊

Good day Tia! I love love love your wash n go videos. My hair love it to! I just tried your updated version. However, I find that when I use the Creme Brule over the Tresemme I find that the there is not as much slip, like the feel of the two products together totally changes. What do you think?
@tots567810 жыл бұрын
ChaShaVI Hi, thank you so much for watching my video and the great feedback; I'm really glad to hear that your hair loves it too! I can certainly agree with you on that... If I feel that it has affected the slip I go back and add a bit more Tresemme Naturals in my hair to keep up the slip factor. But I still like the two products in conjunction with one another because my hair is much softer to the touch, has a little less shrinkage and the moisture level and look of freshness last longer and is superior to any other product that I have used with it.

Curly Head Hello, Yes, it can be time consuming but it goes faster over time. to maintain I only pineapple at night and sleep in a satin bonnet. Are any of the conditioners used in this video "leave-in"? Does leaving regular conditioner in your hair have any negatives? And how do you maintain it at night? Last lol do you have a video of this method with shorter hair? This was great I can't wait to try it!
@tots567810 жыл бұрын
Kayla Grey Hello Kayla, Thank you very much for watching my video and for the great feedback. I have always used the Tresemme Natural Conditioner as my leave in and have never had any issues. The Curls Creme Brule is a leave in styling product. I never pay attention to "leave in" or non leave in conditioner. In my opinion that is just another way to get you to buy more product. I pineapple my hair overnight and sleep in a satin cap. I add coconut oil later in the week as needed but that is the only other product. You can check out some of my "Natural Everyday Makeup" video to see my hair at day 8 wearing this same wash n' go. Also, you can check out some of my older videos on this channel which does have wash n' go videos when my hair was shorter. Stay tuned as I have a nighttime routine maintenance video coming soon! Please let me know how you like the process after you try it for yourself. I hope this helps and that you will subscribe to my channel if you haven't already! :D

Hi Tia, your wash and go method is exactly what I have been looking for!!!! I have always since going natural maybe five years ago wondered why people never use a great moisturizing conditioner as part of their wash and go method. I really thought it was like forbidden to use regular conditioner as a leave in. So the question I have for you is.... I absolutely love Garnier Fructis damage eraser, it is amazingly moisturizing and it just give my hair amazing definition when I'm combing it through. Do you think I could use this to do my wash and goes? your videos are really really helpful for us natural girls.
@tots56789 жыл бұрын
+Sovereign Seeker Thank you so much of the great feedback! I actually don't believe in the whole "it must be a leave in conditioner" to stay in your hair. I have been doing this same method for the last 4 years and have seen nothing but great results! With that being said... you can certainly try the conditioner that you spoke of. Keep in mind that some conditioners provide more hold than others. For exaple... Tiresome Undone while very moisutrizing it does not hold my wash n go and I experience more frizz than normal. Tiresome Naturals conditioners however provide great hold. I hope this helps... thank you for watching! :)

Hi Tia. thanks for the update. Question....how often due you use the denman brush? I have been strictly finger detangling but more people are stressing the need to detangle with an instrument for single strand knots. I modified my denman, just like you showed, but I see a lot of hair in my brush. I am trying to be gentle and start at the ends of my hair up but..... a little help! Please
@tots567810 жыл бұрын
Stepping Diva Lee Hi, thank you for watching my video! To answer your question.... lately I have been using my Denman once per week when I do this wash n' go but only after I finger detangle thoroughly. For the most part I have only finger detangled for the last 4 years. However, now that my hair has reached waist length and it has and is growing longer I'm noticing more single strand knots because my hair curls so tightly. Being that it curls so tight it tangles easier so I have added the Denman into my routine to help combat. Funny thing is that I bought my Denman brush 4 years ago and never used it because finger detangling worked just fine for me. I almost gave it away last year but I'm glad that I held on to it. As for seeing a lot of hair... How often do you detangle? Remember on average our hair sheds 100 strands per day. The Denman is great at getting all shed hair compared to finger detangling. How much water do you drink on a regular basis? Drinking lots of water helps to minimize shedding. I do recommend only detangling on soaking wet hair with lots of conditioner which has a good slip such as the Suave Naturals or Tresemme Naturals shown in this video. I highly recommend (from experience) to finger detangle thoroughly then follow up with the Denman. This will help to avoid breakage and the Denman brush being to harsh on your hair. Be sure to start at the ends of your hair with and hold with a tight grip and work your way up. Don't be too hardon the process... single strand knots are inevitable with it comes to kinky/curly/coily hair. But this is helpful with minimizing. Lastly, if you are noticing a lot of single strand knots, breakage and/or tangling (more than usual) it could be a sign that it is time trim your ends. This make a huge difference also. I hope this helped! :D

awesome! thanks Tia! I'm experimenting a lot with wash in go. My hair shrinks up more and is shorter so I'm loving the funky sporty look of it. So far I've tried knot today as the leave in, with ecostyler gel; I've tried knot today with kinky curly curling custard as the styler; and most recently I tried knot today with the deva curl ultra hold gel...I liked the definition of the eco styler and it was a bit more stretched. The KCCC was curly but not as good of a hold. And the deva curl was the tightest curl but you could really see my ringlets come out. All great looks depending on what vibe I want to rock. this vid may encourage me to try conditioner only but my frizz factor is no joke so I may have to "touch" some of the ends with the eco styler. It will look more like a curly fro than a wash n go at my length for now. Anyway...love your vids and your fun personality! Keep shinin chica!

Danisha Nicole Hi Danisha, thank you so much for the great feedback and for the compliment! There is absolutely nothing wrong with adding gel to your wash n' go. I use gel every blue moon but prefer without for myself because it eliminates the extra step and the flaking. Please let me know how it works for you when you try without the gel. Love this! I have a question: What do you do with areas that are hard to clump? I am testing out your method today with the exception of using cashmere curls instead of the creme brulee. I can't wait until it is dry so that I can see how it turns out! TFS!
@tots567810 жыл бұрын
Yarncoture Maryum Hello, to answer your question... I would finger coil those sections. Be sure that you finger coil very small pieces so that it will blend well. Stay consistent and over time your hair will train to doing this so that you no longer have to finger coil. Great question by the way! Thank you very much for watching and the great feedback! :D

Tia Kirby I just wanted to give you an update...I've been sticking with the coconut oil + Conditoner only method and it's finally working!!! Lol! I wanted to ask you if you have tried the Tresemme Perfectly Undone conditioner? It's CG-friendly and has more slip than the Tresemme Naturals! If you have tried it I would love to see you do a review on it! BTW I wish you a speedy recovery and have a great weekend!

Yarncoture Maryum YAYYYYY! You have no idea how happy I am to hear that! I have tried and but didn't like it. I felt like it was very moisturizing but did not give as much slip for my hair and my hair frizzed much easier with it. I just used it as a cowash & mixed it into my deep treatment. However, I have heard so many people really liking it. I mentioned it in my Drug Store Haul video. I really appreciate you sharing the update with me and watching my videos! So happy for you! :)

Your wash and go is beautiful! So with all the conditioner you added, everything dries clear? I've never done a wash and go but I would like to try & develop a routine this summer. I always fear the product won't dry clear. I don't have a diffuser so I would air dry as well.

I love this video but what does the term slip mean... You said it while you were describing the conditioner.
@tots567810 жыл бұрын
pinkroseflowers1 Hello, thank you very much for watching my video and for the great feedback! The term "slip" refers to being able to easily glide through my hair with my fingers and/or styling tool when detangling. Tiresome Naturals conditioner makes it soon much easier to detangle my hair and almost makes it effortless compared to other conditioners or styling products. Trust me I have tried so many of them. It softens my hair and helots smooth it.

do you recommend me cutting my hair and starting this method? i have loose curls but my hair is straight at the ends due to damage. i've been doing a method somewhat like yours and i have seen improvement in texture as well as growth. i do use coconut oil. so im definitely going to look into this one, that you've been sharing. i really dig it. do you do this everyday? or every other. by the way, thank you for this method, you're the best!

+nana trinidad Hi, I actually do this only once per week but for the first year of doing this method I did it every other day or at least twice per week. I would recommend only cutting your hair if you are comfortable and it is not currently damaging your hair. A cheat is to use perm/cold wave rods at the ends to blend the curls. However, for the best all over results cutting was the damaged ends is best. Thank you so much for sharing the great feedback of your results and for watching my video. Love the hair. I will try this method. Eco styler gel (both organ oil & olive oil line) makes my hair feel strange after giving it 3 tries. Will you review a Giovanni gel which is a natural gel? In one of your older videos, you stated you don't use tools but use finger detangling. I see that has changed. I used to finger detangle only but now I also shower comb afterwards with conditioner which has greatly minimized knots and tangles. I haven't been natural for long (10 months) and use the LCO method for moisture retention mainly without gel. I am still in the TWA stage due to shrinkage. I have fine hair mainly 4a w/some 3c in the back and crown. I am not sure if it's normal to see more shed on wash days as it grows in length. It's only chin length when stretched and shrinks to the ear lobe when released. I cannot wear a wash n go past 1 day. I wake up to moisture loss and a lot of frizz even though I sleep wearing a satin scarf or bonnet. Do you ever DC with steam or heat? One concern is I have not found a DC that really absorbs into and penetrate my hair shaft when I DC. But my main concern is reducing shedding and keeping my ends from breaking off. Well, I assume those little hair circles I see on the floor ( o o o) are my ends breaking off. But, I twist nightly adding a milk styler for moisture and wear twist outs daily since I can't stretch a wash n go due to the aforementioned. Do you attend to your ends when stretching your wash and go? Lastly, Dallas in the house.

Hi, first let me say thank you very much for watching my video. I hope that you will subscribe to my channel if you haven't already. Yes, I have changed methods adding in detangling with the denman brush along with my finger detangling as my hair continues to grow longer. Be sure to drink lots of water and keep hair moisturized with water and conditioner to help with shedding. What you eat and drink matters a great deal. Yes, I add oil or a moisturizer in between time as needed. Using a lot of product as I do helps to keep the moisture. I do steam at least twice per month to help open the cuticle of my hair to better absorb product and expand my hair cuticle. Hey Dallas! I have a meetup coming up next month July 18th at Huetiful Salon DFW. You should register and come hangout. It is an exclusive event with FREE admission but we only have 3 spots left... literally. @tots56789 жыл бұрын
+Inspired Kids Barbados I actually do walk around with the white until it dries. I never mind it because it doesn't last long when I don't add gel to my hair. When your hair drys does it remain greasy from the coconut oil? I don't like when my hair is greasy to the touch or get on anything. I am glad you share your method because I decided to try to anyway and my hair looks good so far, but is not completely dry yet. Thank you.
@tots56789 жыл бұрын
Jazmin Alvarado Hi, amazingly it doesn't remain greasy; it absorbs right on in with the conditioner and makes my hair soft. However, I have once in the past gotten a little to happy with the coconut oil and it took like 2-3 days for the oily feel to go away. But what you see here in the video is the perfect amount for my hair. I would say just try it in steps meaning a little the first time then if you feel that your hair could use more the next time then add it. Coconut oil is so good for the hair so you can't go too wrong. Please let me know how it turns out for you and if you like the final results. Thank you so much for watching my video and for letting me know that you tried it. :)

Hey Tia, I have a question that I just have to ask you, what do you do when you are waiting for your hair to dry are you just going about your daily routine or are you just waiting for your hair to dry? I think the reason why I haven't done a wash and go yet is because I thought even after the hair dried it would still look white and clearly watching your video and many others that is not the case, but how long does it take for the white look of the conditioner to go away or do you use a difusser?

@tots567810 жыл бұрын
Teresa Williams Hello, thank you very much got the great feeack and watching my video. It takes me now about an hour to do my entire head. However, when I first started doing this Tightly Curly Method, it took me about 2 hours and I only had a TWA at the time. Over time my hair learned to clump easier and on its own and I got faster so it cut the time in half for me.
@cherylrb0010 жыл бұрын
You have amazed me again! I do have a couple of questions. My hair is a little past shoulder length when straightened so when doing my wng it shrinks which is totally fine but when your hair was around this length did you find your hair was more defined towards the ends/clumped better but towards the roots and as the roots dry it was slightly less defined after shrinking and partially dry? Any insight on this? Will this change once its longer and heavier. Im currently CG for a little over 6 weeks and I do your deep conditioner with honey/oil and ACV rinsed. One last thing is does your hair still last when working out/ sweating? If possible can you do a workout routine? I find to like the Tresemme Radiant Volume a lot better than the other. Thanks to you I would have never picked it up!!! Much love!
@tots567810 жыл бұрын
Cheryl Rose Best Thank you so much for the great feedback and watching. Great questions! The great thing is that you have started the CG method. As you continue to be consistent and continue to do this tightly curly method you will begin to see better results. Over time moisture training and clumping your curls they will smooth the cuticle of you hair. For the sections that wouldn't smooth at the root I use to make them into smaller sections and finger coil them. But don't get to hung up because the root of your hair is where you want the volume so it's okay if they are not perfect. I think I enjoyed the Radiant Volume conditioner as well; I plan to buy another bottle. For workout I just pineapple my hair then after I shower take it down so that my scalp can dry quickly. But it holds up well!
