This was my first CT show and I will never ever forget it. Galaxie 500 opened up and under the arena floor was ice from the hockey rink. Absolutely beautiful show.

This is beyond words! I have been dreaming about a 91 recording with this quality! I can't believe what my ears are hearing! I'm crying 🥺 Will you upload the whole show? Hi Luis. It's very sad that there aren't any proper live films of them doing a show. I don't remember there ever being a film crew or even a mobile recording unit when I did their live sound which is pretty standard nowadays. Of course there's phones but the sound is poor. I've had these cassettes in my attic forever but didn't really have a platform till KZbin. I tried to get the band interested in a live album a couple of months back but err, it's not happening! Anyway I will keep putting stuff up until someone says 'take it down'. Robin is ok with it so that's nice. The photos are new to you because I took them along with my brother, Russell who used to tech (and played acoustic guitar in the later tours where I wasn't there, '94 onwards I think). Even my sister Rebecca took some of the ones in Japan in '85 and '86 as she was teaching there back then. Anyway take care. Lx

Amazing recording quality! It was only a few days before the gig in Rio, Brazil 1991. Do you have any record of the HOLV gig in Rio? The place was called Imperator, it was April '91. I've been looking for any recordings from that night for ages. Note - 7:29 & 10:30 Actually these are pictures of the band in Rio! OMG, crossing fingers there is also some record of Cocteaus in Rio 😊

@@999LF I wander if someday we the fans will ever be able to listen to the works of would-it-be the unreleased last Cocteau Twins album - the one they started to record after Milk and Kisses but they shutted down due the band's end. I remember someone envolved, maybe Simon, around 2007 said there was some material recorded but it could never see the daylight in any format. Well, since the break up was almost 30 years ago, maybe if there was any term of contract it can be about to expire... Right? (:

I love the vocal phrases on Loves East Tears on this. You don’t hear them so clearly on the record. I saw them numerous times on this tour starting the Birmingham Hummingbird. Incidentally, before the Cocteaus came on, there was some music being played through the PA which was produced in a similar way to the Cocteau Twins. 30 years prior to Shazam, I was never able to trace it. If Lincoln was on the desk, maybe he knows. I’m sure there was a version of Somewhere over the Rainbow…maybe.

Hi Cicobuff, it depends what year it was. I first worked with them in '84 around the time of Tiny Dynamine. I have a feeling if it was '85 onwards it might have been the theme from a film called Dance With A Stranger that I liked back then. It's kind of a haunting sax thing and when they came on to start the set with Lazy Calm, Richie Thomas who played sax would walk on stage playing it.

@ Hi Lincoln, The Hummingbird gig was late October 1990 and it was recorded music with vocals that came on after the support which I think was The Frazier Chorus (or did I imagine that?) and before the Cocteaus came on. It sounded like it had been produced by Robin. At first I thought it was material they had recorded and were just playing through the PA in order to gauge a reaction. It’s a long time ago now and my memory is a bit raddled. I nontheless have a couple of really good photographs of that gig, which I sent to Simon about 10 years ago. I’ll send you them tomorrow if I remember. Thanks Harvey

@@cicobuff2003 It wasn't Dials was it? I don't have a cassette of that show but I was taping that tour on the Sony PCM F1 system (if I recall) that has since become very obsolete. It recorded on Betamax tapes. I think Robin has the tapes and the machines but whether it will still play or just self destruct is a good question.

Yes. I did live sound for them from '85 to '91 and have a fair amount of it in comparable quality. I am just starting to work out how to get bits of it out there. Robin hates live albums so that route is closed but there's always yt.
