Lovely video! This era and style of music is very dear to my heart and I rarely hear someone on KZbin talk about it so lovingly as you did here. The British underground scene around the end of the 70s-beginning of the 80s is a wealth of musical experimentation. Thanks for this!

Great video, M45. The music adds a great new dimension to your presentation. Particularly, for those of us in the US. It wasn’t until much later that I realized the connection the Human League had to Krautrock. HL was really only known for a few hit singles. Of course, by then, their history had been sanitized away. Very cool to learn a little more about the band. Have a great new year. Cheers. Shawn.

Hello! Responding to your request for feedback, I thoroughly enjoy the previous format. I tune in for your interesting insight & unique perspective. Your cool style, humble approach, open mind, and low-key passion keeps me coming back. I only wish there were more vids but understand that isn't easy to do. As for the new format (adding cuts), I understand the why behind it, but I am concerned (one person's opinion) it will interrupt the flow of thought that I enjoy so much. I personally don't mind seeking & playing the music you discuss on my own. It is part of the fun. I'd much rather hear what you have to say. Regardless of format, I truly appreciate your channel. Also, your English is great. No issues whatsoever.

Here you can hear that in the past it was not possible to separate artistic intention and technical ability. I couldn't find any prices, but in 1976 modern synthesizers came onto the market, and by 1980 they were becoming mail order items. So it's no wonder that there was so much new music in the early 80s. However, I didn't understand everything in the BBC documentary on the subject. If AI can translate audio in realtime (YT can't even do it without realtime) I'll look in my archive...

I love the new format, and for review and comment purposes, it's definitely better to have music samples. I just hope you don't get into trouble with KZbin and copyrights. I've had conversations with other KZbinrs who've had their accounts suspended due to copyright issues. Which is strange, because I think on other platforms like Instagram music samples don't seem to cause any problems. Maybe it depends on whether a KZbin account is monetarized or not. But I've always thought that album reviews with 30-second clips would lead to much better appreciations of the critics and reviews. That being said, you are interesting to listen to, with or without music samples. But music samples add something for sure. Happy New Year 2025

Nice video, great throwback! You’ve lost this loving feeling is also a song released on the 1979 album Reproduction by the Human League. And being boiled is on Travelogue. This Peel versions are very very basic, they have their charm but you will find lots of beginning electro bands with this kind of basic synth sound. I like the proper albums more and they also keep that industrial rough sound.

Hey Michael, I wasn't aware of this release. I have the Being Boiled 7", which is a way better version than what showed up on Travelogue. I've found that with Human Leage, they could have one of the corniest songs of all times, followed up by one of the greatest tracks ever, back to back. This is the case on Travelogue, which overall is a phenomenal album. On a side note, almost every Peel Sessions I've heard has been a top tier performance rivaling the studio releases. I've been collecting those since I was a kid.
